Definitely for the lovers of ambiance and quirkiness above straightforward comforts. Clean apartment and decent beds. The bathroom has a good shower, the toilet however is situated on a kind of enclosed balcony and offers insufficient privacy and comfort. There is a weird wooden partition between the back bedroom and the bathroom, so sound and light come through. It's an old building, so the wooden floors and stairs creak when walked on.

We stayed during the weekend and it was extremely noisy. There is some kind of bar/club in the garden of the neighbouring property where they played loud music with heavy basses and sat talking and laughing untill dawn. This obviously is a known problem as the owner left a warning and number of the local police in case of disturbance. However, as they operate with an automated telephone system in Portugese we asked the owner to call them, but the police never came so this did not help with the noise. Avoid this property on weekends if you want a decent night's sleep! On top of that, we bought a sixpack of bottled water that just disappeared. After complaining only two bottles of another cheaper brand reappeared the next day.

The whole night parties next door make it impossible to rest and sleep. The owner clearly knows that. There is a note in the room advising to call police. However, such call achieved nothing.

The apartment was very clean and the owner was very accommodating to our requests!

Check-in was a little confusing as there’s a tea shop downstairs and a restaurant in the back and I wasn’t sure of where to go, but it was fine in the end!

Had charm if retro funky is your taste. good beds. a lovely garden below and a sweet balcony. good enough location

1st night loud music from restaurant next door. advised to call police but is that really an option for guests? 2nd night a late garden party - supposed to go to 2 am but didn’t end until 2:25 am. our host knew of this at least few days before but failed to inform us and at least offer a refund. we knew the day before when we arrived but the room is on the top floor - several flights and we were reluctant to move. and there was no offer on her part to refund should we decide to move. Reservation should have been canceled or at least we should have been informed that there wound be loud music making sleep impossible. all in all, unacceptable.
