Casa Dos Varais, Manor House

The owners & staffs are very  kind. Beautiful traditional mansions, bedding is clean and comfortable. The room is decorated with beautiful props. The dinner served with wine enjoyed on the terrace was excellent, and it was a meal that made you feel that all the food was carefully prepared. There was no elevator, but there was no difficulty moving the luggage some stairs. Thank you to the staff for moving the luggages.

Foi impossível dormir por causa do calor insuportável que estava no quarto. O pequeno almoço é fraco.

Le lieu chargé d’histoire et son jardin magnifique. En bordure de son vignoble malgré proximité de la route très passante qui peut être bruyante de la terrasse .

Le manque de communication concernant les prestations de repas. La direction était très insistante à ce propos ne laissant peu d’autres options si nous ne voulions pas le dîner à €67.50 par personne . Une plancha de simples fromages de vache , chips et tranches de pain à 68€( sans aucun accent du terroir, ni jambon ibérique, ni olives) préparé par la patronne au pied levé accompagné d’une bouteille de vin payée plus cher que dans leur boutique . Un sentiment d’arnaque qui a mis un bémol à notre séjour

A visit to Casa Dos Varais feels less like a hotel stay and more like being welcomed into the home of kind hospitable friends. And what a home! The house full of character and in every way part of the land on which it sits. The pride which the hosts take in their vines and their food is very obvious - and entirely justified. The orange salad, served under the orange trees from which it came, was a revelation. Under no circumstances should you skip dinner which is an essential part of the experience.

Very private. In a genuine 6th generation wine estate surrounded by art and furniture with lots of history. Fun and relaxing. The owners are very friendly.
