The garden and vineyard grounds. Very friendly owners and staff. Historic interior. Amazing multi-course meal!

The shower head needs to be replaced or repaired. With the design of the wall tiling, water flows out onto the bathroom floor no matter what you do. Some minor corrective actions.

Wonderful staff, friendly owners and a rare glimpse into old tradition and refinement. With a nice view of the Douro river, the property is surrounded by vineyard and citrus trees. The stylish rooms are complemented by access to a nice living area and a large dining room. We also recommend the fancy dinner as an experience to remember. One suggestion though, windows insect nets.

The property had a great location and was very well maintained giving you the opportunity of living in a traditional setting.

Casa Dos Varais is quinta on the banks of the Douro River, opposite Peso da Regua, run by the same family for generations. The house is old and has traditional furniture and decor. We were greeted with a welcome drink and enjoyed sitting on the terrace watching the activity on the Douro River. We were also served a six course dinner, wines and port. All were excellent. Our thanks to Laxmi for making it such an enjoyable evening.
