The town and hosts are incredible!

Our best stay in Portugal. Romantic, clean, excellent food in the restaurant with terrace overlooking the village. Monsanto itself is a must see.

The town of Monsanto is fascinating. It is great to spend a night there to enjoy it during the quieter evening and morning. The room at Taverna provides a cozy place to stay. They also provided a fantastic breakfast. Highly recommend this place.

We were unable to cool down the place in the evening, as the fan & open window didn’t create enough cool airflow, but it wasn’t too bad given it was late May. Not sure what middle of summer is like.

This property is very quaint. The boulders are present within the unit as they are part of the walls. The unit has a bedroom on the mezzanine level and a kitchenette, reading room and bathroom on the main level. There is parking at the entrance of village.

Very clean and quiet room. Breakfast at rooftop was fantastic.

An amazing studio apartment at the heart of Monsanto. Traditional design with modern and well functioning interior right at the foot of the castle.

Exceptional in every way!! Our hosts thought of every little comfort and detail and provided a delicious breakfast. The boulder village and our accommodations were incredibly unique. It was our second visit.

Lovely owners. Incredible terrace for breakfast and drinks in evening. Good accomodations. The village is quite unique and much larger than expected. Possibly the most scenic viewpoints in Portugal.

No Air con just a fan.
