Sigiri Rangana Guesthouse

Wir wurden im Rangana Guesthouse sehr herzlich von der Gastgeberfamilie und insbesondere der Tochter empfangen. Gleich bei unserer Ankunft bekamen wir einen großartigen Tipp für einen Aussichtspunkt auf einem Felsen in der Nähe von Sigiriya zum Sonnenuntergang – ein absolut fantastisches Erlebnis mit einer unglaublich schönen, naturbelassenen Landschaft. Am Abend wurden wir mit einem hervorragend leckeren, typisch sri-lankischen vegetarischen Abendessen verwöhnt. Alles war frisch zubereitet und sehr geschmackvoll. Besonders angenehm war die freundliche und aufmerksame Art der Gastgeber – sie waren sehr interessiert und hilfsbereit, dabei aber nie aufdringlich. Auch das Frühstück am nächsten Morgen war sehr lecker und ein perfekter Start in den Tag. Insgesamt bietet die Unterkunft ein ausgezeichnetes Preis-Leistungs-Verhältnis und eine sehr authentische Homestay-Erfahrung in ruhiger, schöner Umgebung. Fazit: Ein sehr herzlicher und authentischer Homestay mit hervorragendem Essen, tollen Tipps und wunderbarer Atmosphäre. Wir haben uns sehr wohlgefühlt und können das Rangana Guesthouse uneingeschränkt weiterempfehlen.

Es gab nichts Wesentliches zu beanstanden. Für uns war es ein sehr gelungener Aufenthalt.

Alles was goed.

The room and bathroom are massive and very clean. The shower has hot water. The staff speak a little English and can explain tours and organize tuktuk if needed (you might find cheaper tuktuk prices in the main road). WiFi worked super well. The breakfast is simple but it's good for the price paid. Easy access by walk to restaurant and main road.

The owners were super friendly and extremely helpful. They helped us organise lots of activities such as pidurangala sunrise hike, bicycles, and a safari at Minneriya - all for a really good price (seemingly taking no commission!). The room was spacious and bed was comfortable.

The listing says it’s soundproof, it’s definitely not as you can hear the family next door. We also had an issue with Ants in the room. It was very hot as no air-con, so something to bear in mind if you feel it’s needed. The food served for breakfast and dinner - although tasty were often served cold.

Habitación muy amplia. Mosquiteras. Desayuno muy rico.

La WiFi no funcionaba

Nous avons passé 3 jours merveilleux chez Cheetah et sa famille. La chambre est propre et grande avec toilettes et eau chaude. Cheetah, sa fille et ses petits enfants sont ADORABLES et toujours prêts à vous aider si besoin. Nous avons passés de supers moments avec eux. Le petit déjeuner est délicieux et Cheetah peut vous préparer un Rice and Kurry pour 8e par personne (eau et dessert compris) sur demande. Le repas est juste délicieux.

Pas que nous n’avons pas aimé car ils ont un jardin magnifique mais la maison n’est pas dans le centre donc il vous faudra à chaque fois, un tuk tuk pour l’aller retour en ville pour un peu moins de 3e.

Really lovely hosts who went out of their way to help us, cook for us, and make for a pleasant 2 night stay. The room is spacious and right next door to the hosts. The dinner the owner cooked for us was AMAZING, one of the best curries we've had in Sri Lanka. And the Sri Lankan pancakes were amazing too! Great location for walking into town, and they had a kind and genuine tuktuk driver who helped us get to and from Sigirya Rock when we hiked it! Overall great value for money.

The room had no AC only ceiling fans, and the heat was quite strong in the room so we had to leave the door open with the fans on full blast to try to get the heat out -- this allowed many bugs into the room unfortunately, but we didn't get bit which was good. Rooms were basic and not the cleanest, but value for money made it worth it.
