Sky and Sand Guesthouse

Comfortable guesthouse with spacious and renovated family rooms, great for an extended stay. It is 5min away from Cinnamon Bey beach. The staff extremely nice and helpful. The owner attends to his guests himself to make sure that our stay is great and exceeds expectations. They organized a cute setup for our friend whose birthday happened to be during our stay, they allowed us to check out later free of charge, and even arranged for a homemade lunch at the guesthouse itself, on the pergola, which was great. Highly recommended!

the breakfast was good. the massage was perfect. the room was very clean with good smelling

the room had Electric Kettle but didn't have tea or coffee and when I requested They brought me tea and added the cost to the room. the bathroom didn't have soap. the WIFI did not work and the restaurant was expensive

Everything about this small boutique hotel/ guesthouse was perfect. I wish I could score them 100!!! Not just 10 Beautifull family who helped with anything we needed yet stayed in the background, were not intrusive in anyway - attentive, caring, professional, supportive with advice. They offer massages etc which I didn’t undertake as I have been in Sri Lanka for 1 month and took this elsewhere.( I wish I’d experienced this with them). This is my second trip to Sri Lanka and this area in the western province is my favourite. This place is sparkling clean throughout . The pool is immaculate . The gardens are well kept watered daily. WiFi is very good. I will MOST DEFINITELY COME BACK NEXT YEAR The breakfast is delicious. Beds are comfortable and the air con actually works!!! Property was approx 5 mins from the beach - which is clean!! 5 mins tuk tuk ride from the ATM. ( they accept cash only). This country is recovering from a difficult time politically. The people smile so brightly and welcome with open arms. They work extremely hard to make everyone happy . Please don’t try the big hotels this is a perfect size with only 8 rooms.

Nothing at all

We stayed in a variety of accommodation on our Sri Lankan holiday and I would have to say that Sky and Sea really hit the mark for the price point. The property is tucked away up an alley off a convoluted street. It might look a bit tricky to find at first, however there are plenty of signs on the surrounding streets. Being off any main streets, the guest house is in a very quiet location. The staff are very friendly and accommodating. We had a midnight flight and asked about a 7pm check out - they kindly offered us a half rate to extend till then ( we would have been happy paying another night as this is a very affordable property). Our room had everything you need - simple but totally fine. Nice to have a balcony with comfortable chairs to sit out on. This was one of the best showers we had on our holiday - and the water didn't leak all over the bathroom floor/ While the guesthouse is not beachside - it is only a short walk to the wide relatively quiet beach with a decent numbers of beachside bar/ restaurants. Sky and Sand has an onsite Ayurvedic treatment centre. We were initially sceptical, but more as a way of killing time, I booked a 1hr massage. This was definitely the best massage I had while in Sri Lanka - good pressure and very relaxing. The owner of Sky and Sea is a very engaging guy who goes the distance to make his guests happy. I was having issues getting cash out and wanted to pay with my credit card. While the guesthouse did not have facilities to process C Cards onsite, the owner ran me into an associates store to process the transaction - made it all easy.

Sky and Sea is very good value for money - and as it is affordable accommodation, you need to set your expectations accordingly. I am struggling to think of anything that could have been better for a property in this price range.

Very nice Homstay, very clean.

The garden looks fantastic and the staff is very nice and helpful. Breakfast is great and we had there the most delicious tea yet. The room was spacious and they run a cleaning service every day.

The room we stayed in might need some refurbishments.. The walk to the beach is through a narrow alley, kind of unpleasant and very dark after sunset…I guess is absolutely safe..but very unpleasant
