The Golden Residence

The host was brilliant!!! Greeting us straight away showing us how everything works, telling us what to do around the hotel. Even showing us around his garden and letting us have some! Definitely a great stop heading to kandy

Really helpful and friendly. They were already waiting for us at the front door when we arrived. I would highly recommend this place!

The house was lovely with beautiful wooden furniture. The room was big with a comfortable bed and hot shower in a nice bathroom. Chandra was the perfect host, nothing was too much trouble he provided us with a kettle and cups for our room as well as other kind gestures ( Sri Lankan breakfast one morning). On arrival we were given homemade starfruit juice and showed us around his lovely garden full of fruit trees and herbs.. He organised a car for our visit to the Elephant Orphanage. Chandra is special and we highly recommend The Golden Residence.

A little way out of town but buses pass by the property.

The room was comfortable, but the bathroom was smelling. Not cleaned properly.

The owner/caretaker was overbearing, watching our every move.

Highly recommended. The rooms and common areas are enormous by usual standards, and very comfortable. Super attentive host offered a range of fresh juices from the garden, and delicious top-shelf fruit selection as well as loads of tips and suggestions for local attractions. Very effective AC. The room was mosquito free but also well netted on an enormous four-poster bed. If driving note that the turn comes up suddenly as you come around the corner and would be easy to miss the first time.
