Carnarvon House

Everything was perfect, it was very clean and nice. The host was very friendly and helpful. Free coffee and snacks were perfect. The location is very good. We liked the Chinese interior design.

No elevator, but it was okay, it has around 20 stairs.

The house is quite pretty, and as a visitor it is cool to be able to see what an older Straits Chinese building looks like from the inside. It is also very clean, which is much appreciated as most of us as sharing a communal bathroom and I was concerned (but it turned out to not be an issue). Eva and Nicole were also both very helpful and responsive by message, which helped us a lot (esp as we ended up arriving very late at night, we appreciated the good communication and Eva's willingness to stay up late and meet us). The location is really convenient, the neighbourhood is quiet but you are only one or two streets over from the lively parts of George Town.

Since we are all sharing a bathroom, it would have been nice to have some dimmer lighting at night - from our room I had to walk downstairs to use the bathroom and the bright lights really woke me up and made it not very comfortable.

It was beautifully decorated and you felt like you were back in time.

Considering it was apparently only a 2 star accommodation, I was pleasantly surprised by the trouble that had clearly gone into making the room comfortable, cosy and attractive. A good shower, good lighting.

the bed was not particularly comfortable - I think it was a spring mattress and I don't sleep well on them.

ジョージタウンやショッピングセンター、各所に近く便利。雨季だったのですぐ宿に戻って一息つけるのは助かった。スタッフも親切。

エレベーターはないので自分で階段を登ってスーツケースを運ぶ必要がある。
