The location is very convenient, within walking distance of many of George Town’s main attractions. The hotel is set in a historic building, which gives it a certain charm, with wooden floors and some original interior features that reflect the character of the area.

Compared to similar accommodations in George Town, this property feels expensive for what it offers. Many rooms do not have windows to the outside, making it necessary to run the air conditioning most of the time. The rooms are small, and the layout is not very practical, with power outlets and light switches oddly placed. Some rooms are only accessible by stairs, and the shared bathrooms are quite far from certain rooms, which can be inconvenient. In terms of amenities, the hotel offers fewer facilities than other places nearby — for example, there are no washing machines or bicycles available. Overall, the hotel appears somewhat worn, with stained carpets and curtains that affect the general impression. While the location may be good, the value for money is disappointing compared to other options in the area.

Bed is too soft

De sfeer van hotel was heerlijk - een ‘woonkamer’ met faciliteiten zoals water, koffie/thee, fruit, snacks en servies (voor take-aways) en de indrukwekkende oude en toch nieuwe en schone stijl van het gebouw. Het bed was erg comfortabel!

Het was er wat gehorig met dunne wanden en krakerige houten vloer, maar de gasten van dit hotel zijn allemaal erg rustig. Dus heerlijk geslapen. Persoonlijk ben ik geen fan van de super kleine badkamers waar alles nat wordt van een douche 🙈 en je toilettas nergens neer kan zetten.

Schöne, gemütliche Unterkunft mit allem, was man braucht. Nicole ist unglaublich nett und hilfsbereit. Von der Unterkunft aus ist man sehr schnell an den belebten Orten.

L'accueil incroyable, la disponibilité du personnel et les conseils très avisés. La chambre était parfaite, les snacks ainsi que thé et café à disposition très appréciés. Les espaces communs étaient propres et très agréables. Localisation parfaite.

Beautiful building in the heart of Georgetown - close to heritage attractions and Chinatown. Nicole was very accommodating and happy to help us. The room was very spacious and comfortable - our room was in the new building, which is next door to the heritage one (heritage building has shared bathrooms) - make sure you ask to see the heritage building before you leave (if you are staying in the new one) - it is stunning.

There is a mosque close by and the call to prayers are quite loud from the hotel (did not bother us after a day of exploring - but may wake up young children in the early morning)
