Beautiful, cosy place in the middle of banana plants and amazing view over Ponta do Sol and the ocean. Ponta da Sol has some very good restaurants. The weather was very good in Ponta do Sol - more sun hours than e.g. in the North or Funchal area. Around 10min walk to the beach (downhill). The hosts are very nice and helpful and generously provide bananas, mangos and other fruit from their own garden. There is a small supermarket in walking distance which offers everything we needed including fresh bread and coffee. Great and central location to reach the north and south part of Madeira - rental car is highly recommended.

The beds were for us personally a little bit too hard.

Wonderful property and the owners are very easy to stay in touch with via WhatsApp. Owner meets you in the nearby gas station to take you to the parking area and walk with you inside the house to show everything. Apartment is very private with a nice sit out area with ocean view. It is also very clean with fully equipped kitchen, washer, refrigerator. Street parking is plenty in two locations near the house and we did not have any problem finding a spot. There is a wonderful restaurant near the accommodation (owner will tell you the name), which serves one awesome whole chicken dish and several authentic meat dishes for very reasonable prices. We ate there 4 times during our stay. You can use this place as a base for all your hikes and scenic views in Madeira island (20-45 minutes drive from one end to the other end) and there is not much traffic. Some of the hikes we did include Vereda do Pico Ruivo and Ponta de São Lourenço, which are some of the best in the world.

Some observations/recommendations: No air conditioning ( I knew that when I booked) - Owner was kind enough to provide a fan, but including 2 large fans in both rooms will be helpful after long hikes. There are window mosquito screens in the bed room but not in the living room, which helps to ventilate at night time. Bathroom drain was clogged forming a puddle after every shower - I am sure it will be fixed soon.

It’s a beautiful villa with excellent location and cozy town. we’ve experienced true Madeirian living also jhad a warm welcome on arrival and were looked after really well. i would definitely go back to the same place again

We had a perfect time at Encanto do Sol! The views are amazing and the garden had so much to offer - from delicious fruit and herbs to relaxing spots from which to enjoy the views. The appartment itself has everything you need and was super clean. On top of that, Juan and Catia are amazing hosts, very kind and welcoming and always ready to help and offer advice. Ponta do Sol is a cute and relaxed town from which you can easily explore the rest of the island. All in all, it was a perfect stay and we couldn't wish for anything else!

Nothing - we just wish we could have stayed longer!

Cátia and Juan were amazing hosts! The most amazing hosts I'd ever encountered and I travelled quite a lot. We were scheduled to arrive right in the middle of the airport chaos, Lufthansa strikes etc. Long story short, we arrived one day later, our taxi was cancelled, there were long queues to taxis and nothing available, 2 adults, one very tired child, in the crux of the night. Cátia picked us up from the airport, she wouldn't take any money from us. They were always there in case of anything. The voew over the cliffs, from the garden are breathtaking. We shared a nice and unsophisticated snack with wine, one one of the beautiful spots in their garden. Very discrete and helpful hosts, the house has all the facilities a family needs. We felt very welcomed and will cary amazing memories from Madeira, a superb island!
