River Retreat Sigiriya

I enjoyed everything at this beautiful place. The host Madu was a caring and super friendy person, I felt like I'm at home. She gave me tips how to enjoy Sigiriya and arrenged a safari tour for me. The location was perfect, just a few minutes from the main street and 10mins to the Rock by walk. The house has a beautiful green garden and, the room was super clean and spacious. definitely recommed this place and I will come back with my friends next time.

Madu was super friendly and gave many tips on what to do and when to do it! She also arranged for us to go on a safari where we saw elephants.

WiFi only works for social media, but that’s fine as I mostly used Instagram

Prime location and economical pricing

1. No proper Wifi connectivity 2. No hot water heater 3. Host was not the most hospitable, felt little mean and she directed us to a restaurant which she claimed she had nothing to do with the restaurant and that she is just suggested based on the customers feedback but we ended up seeing her in the restaurant area having a chat with the restaurant staffs. She was behind us asking for payments saying its getting late for her shopping and she kept insisting us to check out and take the trip by making up reasons with the weather.

Very nice accommodation located a few meters from the main street of the town of Sigiriya. Everything is close, including the ruins. The house is very beautiful, and the room is very spacious, clean and bright. Madu, the girl who runs the accommodation, is charming and always willing to help. Very good safari with her. Many thanks for everything!!

This is obviously not a fancy resort, then you'd probably have to pay 10 times what you pay here. But this place is everything you could ask for. It's clean and tidy and a little off the mainstreet. Madu the lady running the place is a lovely person. Who definately will take care of you..She has a heart as big as an elephant. Talking of elephants: If it's your wisch to see these magnificent animals. Then talk to Madu and she will fix this for you. You really should it's an experience of a lifetime

Madu (host) is amazing! She is very welcoming and gave us all information about activities and recommendations for restaurants. Madu also came with us on a safari, which was really entertaining. She knows a lot and takes the well-being of the elephants into account as well. Room and safari were good value. We really enjoyed staying here!

Madu (the host) is the most caring person I came across in Sri Lanka. She gave me a warm welcome and made me feel very comfortable. She went above and beyond to explain where everything is and the room was very cozy and sparkly clean. Her guest house couldn’t be better located so I highly recommend staying there if you’re thinking about hiking the rocks.
