Pawana Rest

This is a very simple family homestay and is a delight to stay in. It's incredibly clean and quiet and the family that run it are absolutely lovely! It's very handy for the caves at Dambulla or visiting Sigirya or Pidurangala. The family will arrange transport for you. We had such a nice time and had a wonderful afternoon having Sri Lankan cookery lessons with our hosts. I highly recommend the cooking lessons, we learnt so much and got to eat it all afterwards!

Amazing amazing amazing family! The room is extremely clean and lovely and the bathroom was the same. The food for dinners and breakfast was delicious, and everyone was extremely helpful in giving local info and offering to book trips or anything else we needed. Would 110% go again!

Great place to stay in Dambulla. It is a family stay and felt welcomed right away. We had Sri Lankan bfast every day with different specialities Room is perfect if you wanna keep it under budget.

The hotel is run by a wonderful family. The hospitality, service, cleanliness, breakfast are to the highest standards. I am deeply impressed when the owner has traveled back and forth 100 kms to get my medicines that I forgot in a restaurant on the way to Pawana Rest. The son has organized almost everything that we require in the city. The mother has cooked delicious food for us. I highly recommend the hotel to any traveller. Thank you for everything.

Very nice Family always there if you need help with anything. Good srilankan breakfast.

School is right next to the house so it’s pretty loud early in the morning.

This place was such a lovely and special guest house. The family running couldn’t be more helpful and accommodating... breakfast each morning was something Sri lanken, all home made, we even had some mango from the trees! The rooms are quite basic but there’s a fan and everything you really need so very good value for money. It’s also in a great location and easy to get to and from site seeing via tuk tuks. ( We recommend getting to a cricket match if there’s one on during your visit. )
