"Great stay - so comfortable and brilliant area to base a visit to the Abel Tasman national park"

9.0

Leigh was a great host - nothing was too much trouble and she made my stay very comfortable and easy. Lovely area with good options for eating out as well as having the Abel Tasman National Park on the doorstep with all its beautiful amenities.

"Very much enjoyed the remoteness, the dark skies and walking on trails near the accomodation."

9.0

The cabin is a roughly 8 foot by 16 foot portable structure. The layout is quite efficient and the cooking / cleaning area very effectively laid out. One feature which some travellers may not like is that toilet is accessed by leaving the 'living' area and walking 10 feet to a separate structure. We actually very much liked this feature because when using the 'facilities' once or twice in a night, it gave us the opportunity to look up and check out the night sky which on two of the three nights we stayed there, was absolutely spectacular. One important note which the operators do stress is that there is no stores nearby so make sure you bring all your provisions for cooking. Also do bring 3 litres per person per day for drinking as a commonsense safety precaution. Finally the restaurant mentioned nearby the location is wonderful but only open on weekends for much of the year. It makes for a wonderful main meal midday, supplemented by your own provisions or cooking for the evening.

"Cool, eclectic, social and cozy. A special place!"

9.0

We stayed in the boathouse, perfect for a family of four. Cozy cabin, cool garden and common areas and great outdoor dining/chillng spaces. The shared bathroom is very fresh and we loved our little private veranda in the shade where you could also feed the eels!

The host was very welcoming and laid back. We felt very much at home in this little oasis and used Motueka as a resting point after the Abel Tasman.
