Best Bower

Great location. Easy access to all Portland. The Observatory and east side park are amazing. The skylights are great. Easy opening/closing. Well insulated from street noise. Fantastic coffee bar. Super clean. Soft comfortable queen bed.

Parking. Street parking, like in all cities, is never what you want, but adequate for the time. The second bed is interesting. Functional. Comfortable. Nonstandard.

Best Bower is the Goldilocks of places to stay in Portland. Not big, anonymous and corporate, but not the forced intimacy of a B&B. The rooms are of reasonable size and clean, and they have windows - that open! and actual paintings on the wall that aren't mass produced. The small espresso machine, mugs, plates, silverware, etc. mean you can easily have a European breakfast in your room. The neighborhood is friendly and it's a nice jaunt down the hill to downtown Portland. The owner is around if you need her, but not at all intrusive. This is a great place to stay and just right.

We had everything we needed during our stay - really nice touches included the nespresso machine, wine fridge and the Firsthand products in the bathroom. Really liked the contactless check in/out as well - made it super easy to get settled in.

Good room size, comfortable bed, spacious bathroom, walkable location to bakery, breweries, downtown, promenade. Kitchenette with kettle/ Nespresso machine.

Towels had stains. Street parking. Noisy fridge.

The location, the room quality and the fact that the bathrooms had not only heated floors, but also heated towel racks. Best Bower rooms stand out in their attention to detail, combined with the management's sheer professionalism. I'll gladly stay here again & again.

There really is nothing not to like. If you're looking for room service and hoity-toity things like bellboys and a concierge, then this is not going to be your jam.

The decor, communal courtyard, location, comfort

Everything was great. Loved the room, the location, the ease of it all.

King bed would have been ideal, but just being nit picky here, it was all great.

No breakfast. Very modern and nice. Good location. Lots of coffee shops close by.

Didn't like the Nepresso coffee. There was no microwave.
