Best Bower

Our room and bathroom were refreshingly spacious and were beautifully and tastefully decorated. It was a relaxing retreat. We enjoyed the location, with many local shops, coffee places and restaurants nearby. The area felt more like a neighborhood, which we enjoy, rather than a touristy destination. Once we arrived, we returned our rental car and walked everywhere--to the waterfront, parks, shopping and dining. There were plenty of nice amenities in our room and kitchenette, including a Nespresso maker and accompanying coffee pods. In the bathroom, we found tasteful sink and shower hardware, plus hand and body soap, lotion, shampoo and conditioner. Outside of our room was a pleasant courtyard, which was nice for sitting and relaxing. The room had many updated touches, including a towel heater, floor heater and tv with seemingly unlimited channels. It's an urban setting, so there is some city noise. We use a white noise machine, and it wasn't at all an issue for us.

One minor issue was squeaky hinges on the gate from the street to the courtyard. We mentioned it to the proprietor, and they fixed it almost immediately.

Everything was top notch! Very comfortable and clean and we loved the decor and furnishings!

Large, clean, comfortable,stylish room. The location is very good and the area felt safe and friendly. There was also the facility to prepare and eat your own food, which was a bonus. The owner was extremely helpful. I would definitely recommend and return when visiting Boston again.

No breakfast tea bags provided amongst the selection on offer. No doubt had I asked, they would have been..The cafe just along the road, however, made great tea and open from 5.30am

We love Best Bower and have stayed there before. In the room we stayed in this time the shower curtain was visibly mildewed as well as the grout in the shower. Otherwise we had a lovely time and will still stay again because of the fabulous location, beautiful decor, and excellent vibes.

Clean, quiet and comfortable. We really enjoyed our stay and will definitely stay here whenever we are visiting Portland.

Super well designed, spacious rest room. Excellent location, walkable distance to the park and beach nearby.

It would be nice to have nicer pillows.
