Serenade Beach Hotel

I highly recommend Serenade. It's right on the beach, just a little bit away from the busier part of the beach which gives it a more private and relaxed atmosphere. The rooms are large, comfortable and very clean. I recommend paying a bit extra for the Superior Seafront room as it has a panoramic view of the beach and ocean. We had an excellent whole fish dinner - so fresh! The staff are very friendly and will attend to you every need. Malith and his team do an excellent job. You can do an easy day trip to Galle. It's only 30 minutes away by road. Well worth it.

Staff is good and there service is excellent. Food is tasty and worth for money. Room rates are reasonable. Rooms and the bathroom are very clean and tidy. Nice swimming pool and access to beach. However, I give three stars only because of the following two: 1-The water flow rate isn't sufficient at all in the bathroom sink. 2-The main person (owner/manager) is arrogant

Myself and 3 friends stayed here for 4 nights at the beginning of January. This was the first time for us all in Sri Lanka and having read the hotel reviews before we came we were looking forward to our stay. The hotel and staff did not disappoint, from the second we landed in Colombo until the day we left to head up to Negronbo nothing was too much and everyone always had the biggest smiles on their faces. The hotel was lovely in a fabulous location right on the beach. The location on the beach was great as it was close enough to walk up to the bech bars and restaurants but far enough away to have a lovely bit of the beach right outside the hotel and the hotel had its own sun beds on the beach. I would definitely recommend this hotel to anyone wanting to stay in Hikkaduwa.

Great location as it a little quieter than the busy surfing area The hotel has a great size room and bathroom including hair dryer television tea coffee making station plenty of room for all your holiday bits The breakfast is buffet style with a good offering of Sri lankian food as well as European food The bar has wine beer juices ect and a great bar menu you can call yourself to the local fish market for kilo of king prawns and the chef is happy to cook them for you ( they do a great source yummy This is our second visit and there really is nothing more that you would want from the pool to a sea view room and right on the beach Thank you to lalith and his team for an amazing holiday

We stayed here whilst watching the cricket in Galle. The room was a good size and perfectly functional. The highlight was the staff who were brilliant from the minute we arrived right up to the moment we left. I can’t thank them enough. I can’t really comment on the food as we ate out most days due to the abundance of places to eat. We did have breakfast every day and that was more than acceptable. I would definitely recommend the Serenade for anyone thinking of staying in Hikkaduwa and look forward to returning in the near future.

We stayed here for 2 nights, the staff were amazing an very welcoming, they organized a Sri lankan breakfast one morning which was delicious its abit away from the restaurants but its a 10min walk on the beach or rd to get to them which is easy. Or u can always tuk tuk. The hotel is good because it's away from the beach bars so you have the beach to yourself pretty much and it's always quiet. Place was always clean and the it was the best welcoming drink we had in Sri lanka!!

We stayed for 4 nights in this hotel recently and me and my friend absolutely loved it. We felt so welcome for our whole stay and the staff made sure our every need was met. Lovely private beach out the back and the breakfast we had every morning was delicious. I'd like to mention Sunil who always has a smile on his face and is a lovely man. keep up the good work as I honestly could not find a fault with this place. From Martin and Matt crazy English lads lol

The hotel is nice, good pool, nice rooms, clean ... But the first day, the owner forced us to cancel our reservation made by a well-known hotel booking website, and he tried to force us to pay four days in advance , without news. about the refund of the cancellation. He was very unpolite. The rest of the people who work there were very friendly. Breakfast was not included and the cost was high, compared to the country prices (€ 4.5 per person, and it's not a big buffet, just some fruit, eggs and toast with butter and jam). The restaurant has very few options (it was off season anyway...)
