Stunning place, I want to go again. The views are out of this world

Amazing view! The fun double bunkbed in the room. The very friendly staff who fixed all our questions.

Dodgy road leading to the estate. One restaurant was closed. A lot of mosquitos in the room which can be easily prevented or a light as you find in many SA hotelrooms. No wine glasses in the room which seems strange for a wine estate. Not even a bottle of water in the room. Swimmingpool towels had to be picked up at reception, small thing to put it in the room.

Place is not as advertised, the SPA has been closed for more than 6 months and is still advertised on the platform. Rooms are not clean, really dirty and bugs everywhere, and no drinking water, kettle was also dirty. Rooms are also smaller than what is seen from pictures. Shower water was leaking all over the bathroom even when shower door is closed. To get to the estate you have to travel on a dirt road quite an inconvenience if you don't have a 4x4. Staff are also not friendly and are sarcastic with their response. The chef is also unable to make an omelette, can only make scrambled eggs though one is paying for a 4/5 star experience. For a place advertised as a 4/5 star establishment, this is definitely not true and not the treatment we received, the place is more a kind to a 1 star. We had to cancel the rest of our booking and stay at another establishment to celebrate our honeymoon, what a disappointment. To this day which is a month later we have not received any response from Val Du Charron, even after forwarding a complaint via email as was requested by the manager even when I call they keep saying they will send a response on the day I call and still no response and no refund.

The place is magnificent, the staff were amazing, really friendly and so helpful. The pool and other facilties were fantastic. I really felt like i was on holiday. Lovely place

I chose the wrong room so had no view. I was hoping to have a Pizza but was very surprised that teh Piza resturant closed at 16:00 on a weekend ?

A really lovely stay. The guesthouse is rustic but with modernities. The facilities and well kept and our room had the most beautiful views of the wine land and majestic mountains. Staff were exceptionally friendly and helpful throughout our stay. Will definitely be coming back.

The breakfast was define, much different and I liked the buffet option. I think management should look at the neatness of the restaurant area especially the corners. The bedding in room 29 where I slept were not fresh and so the towels which I used. I.ve been booking with the hotel for a very long time. I came there on Monday 9 December, which were my birthday, and I was treated like any other day... I'm sure with todays technology the system would notify the staff especially on check in. I leave it there... A big concern is: for the past 2 years I've been staying over the staff changed like never before and also the quality and preparation of the food and drinks. I hope management could look into this matter.
