Place looks lovely and very rustic. Quite quaint.

The 20 birds in a cage outside our place going off at 4.30am and thriughout the morning was awful. Ask to stay far away from the middle. Breakfast was tasty, albeit tiny. Being served 1 tiny mushroom cut into 4 for e.g. was really disappointing for the cost.

The bed was comfortable and the room had everything you need. The bathroom was great and a lovely size. Margret and staff was exceptional, very kind and welcoming. Breakfast was great too.

The sounds of all the birds can be a bit much on the first morning but you get use to it.

It has potential

All the bird cages - you can’t get a decent rest it is noisy and unhygienic The place is unkept, everything is falling apart, nothing is neat and tidy Room is dusty, bed is terrible, did not want to sit on the couch it is so old and not in an antique kind of way. Struggled with the aircon. Overpriced

Location and tradition

Very tired, staff friendly but exceptionally poor sleep due to constant noise from caged parrots, barking dogs and birds

Beds was comfortable with good linen, towels and bathrobes. Staff was friendly and the breakfast was good. Great to have a restaurant on site (although closed on Mondays)

If you like to sleep (any time during the day or night) then this is not the place for you. Plenty of noise from 100s of birds (macaws, parrots, cockatiels etc. ) in the aviaries which is right in front of the rooms :-(. No views of the beautiful mountains. Kids not allowed to be unsupervised on the property. WiFi signal is bad. Room not supported during load shedding. Water not safe to drink and then charged for bottled water. Unfortunately not the farm stay we expected ...

Breakfast was very good everything you can expect with a buffet and can be enjoyed from the veranda. The bed was comfortable with clean linen. Coffee / tea provided however no biscuit or rusks. Nice big bathroom with enough clean towels and soaps. Staff are very helpful and always willing to go the extra mile to make your stay enjoyable.

The outside area at the back of our room, could have been swept and the bird mess on table / chairs cleaned before our arrival, If one likes a sleep in this might not be the place, the macaws have a load screech which starts at daylight. If booked in the self-catering units one might escape the macaws call as these units are a little further from their cages. The rooms do have TV's but don't have the Dstv sports channels, there are the movie channels and netflix etc. The decor is very mix and match but everything you need is there.

Plenty of noise (to be expected, as this is a farm, after all) and for the price paid, I’d expect the bottled water and coffee pods to be included in the price, as with other guesthouse in the same price category.
