Very good location, also a great restaurant on the premises. Room was comfortable. We had an old Dover stove in the cottage which added character. The farm produces very good wine at a reasonable price.

Pool was nice for the kids, and views were beautiful. On site restaurant was good.

Unit was extremely outdated, uncomfortable seating in living area. No extra seating, apart from uncomfortable dining room chairs. Entire unit was very dirty and old dirt was swept into corners. Braai area outside was dirty and braai grid was disgusting. Kitchen area was unpractical, and a wine fridge was all that was provided for a self-catering unit. We had breakfast one morning at estate, but it was very disappointing and not value for money. Unit is extremely small and photos does not give accurate space. Smart TV as advised, was not working as a smart TV.

Terrible place- NOTHING. BOOKING DOT COM SHOULD REMOVE THIS ESTABLISHMENT FROM YOUR WEBSITE Seeing as you replied (again very sarcastically) on our terrible rating, I decided to elaborate a bit... after all a picture is worth a thousand words... We booked for 7 evenings, and as you pointed out, didn't even stay an hour. Why? Yes, because the parrots are extremely loud, and due to my hearing disability and cochlear implant, it was impossible for me to stay. I'll admit, when I made the booking, I only read the first review or 2, looked at your apparent 4-star rating, lovely pictures on the website, and might not have scrolled right to the bottom of the page to read about the "beautiful singing of your parrots" (in your words... to me it is more like ear-piercing squawking). I did however read your initial property description right below the pictures, where you state, and I quote "Located among vineyards and mountain view........... Activities on the farm include animals such as alpacas, big outdoor chess and table tennis." Now, it may just be me, but would this not have been the ideal opportunity to also perhaps mention the "PARROTS" or how about one or two pictures of the actual cages right upfront, so your potential customers don't have to search through reviews for the actual truth.

EVERYTHING- TERRIBLE PLACE Rude and sarcastic owner. Not willing to meet his customers even one step of the way. We paid in excess of R24000, and didn't even stay an hour. If we just didn't show up, I could still understand his unwillingness to even refund one day, but we went there, explained the situation with the noise, saw that the room was not as advertised (welcome to see the pictures below, but to elaborate... torn kitchen stool cushions, torn comfort chair, door lock not working properly - the reception-lady told us to avoid using the key, seeing as it gets stuck and takes forever to get out, door rattling - I had to use a ball of toiletpaper to try and secure it, no toiletpaper-holder in bathroom, filthy curtains, shower, etc). But as I said, don't take my word for it, look at the pictures, and tell me if this is a 4star establishment.

The breakfast was great and the staff friendly

I know the bird farm is part of earning money for the farm but the noise is excruciating. We stayed next to the house and it is not a great experience. The owners wife should be more friendly. she is as unfriendly as her birds are loud. The restaurant on the premises served Lamb Shank. It was cold inside, not tasty and made me sick the next day. On our cape tour, we visited 6 places to stay in 11 days and this was the worst of them all. I am not impressed with this place at all.

They breed with parrots. It is cruel and smells and is very noisy. They also have two giant dogs that walk around. One wretched right next to me at breakfast. They ration and limit breakfast and you leave hungry! The bed is also very uncomfortable. The whole place is a bit strange and eerie.
