The room and bathroom was spacious, with a good bed, linen and generally very upmarket. The house is very close to the sea, although it does not have a sea view. The price (excluding the added cleaning fee) was reasonable.

From the pictures I though this might be close to a small boutique hotel or an integrated guest house, but the room are attached, but do not form part of the main house and lead onto the front porch. For our room there was really nowhere to sit and relax, apart from the room itself. The bench was at the end of a long porch and in the scorching sun - so not very usable. The main house you see on the picture is occupied and not part of the guests area. It also feels that you have to keep your curtains close since the room very much open into the street. One thing that was really annoying was the fact that the property automatically added a cleaning fee, that was not part of the booking.com price, since the payment worked per EFT rather than the normal credit card route. At first we did not request the room to be cleaned on arrival, since there was not really much to be cleaned (no self catering facilities), then realized we already paid a cleaning fee and asked the owner to go ahead with the cleaning service, since we paid for it either way. The towels were not replaced, which along with refilling the tea supplies was really the only form of cleaning to be done. I strongly feel any extras, such as cleaning fees should be included in the quoted booking price! The room was fairly smart, but did not have a TV. With no TV and no sitting room or shaded porch area we felt a bit confined to our rooms while we stayed there. I would have like a nice spot to read and take in the quiet serenity of Jacobs Bay. I think this property can offer much more to its guests with a few small changes, that would help to utilize its full potential.

Roz's warm welcome made me feel straight at home. She allowed me to check in earlier which was very convenient. The room was beautiful and the complementary sherry, chocolates and cheese crackers were appreciated.
