I felt that we were treated more as an off-season inconvenience than valued hotel guests. Before our arrival, the hotel messaged us and asked us to contact the property when we arrived. We reached the area in the morning and walked to the property, but there was no sign or indication that it was the correct building, so we had to guess based on the photos online. The doors were locked, and although we understood that early check-in might not be possible, we had hoped to at least leave our luggage and have breakfast. We called the number provided and were told to wait on the main street for the person looking after the guests. Three hours later, after countless phone calls and repeated promises that they would arrive “in 30 minutes,” we eventually found the front door open ourselves. The property itself is nicely decorated, and our room was spacious. However, it felt as though it hadn’t been used for some time, so it didn’t feel particularly fresh. Breakfast was simple but delicious. On our last evening, we asked if it would be possible to have an early breakfast the following morning. The caretaker didn’t seem very keen on the request. Even when I suggested that just toast and coffee would be enough, he continued to encourage us to come later instead. In the end, we said not to worry and decided to leave earlier. It was therefore disappointing to see him sitting outside on his phone when we departed. Overall, it was a rather disappointing experience, mainly due to the lack of hospitality and poor communication.
