Sunset Valley Holiday Inn

The whole booking was a sham. I had booked the night and even confirmed my stay. There was a confirmation msg received from the property. After that, I receive a msg welcoming me when I had not even checked in since I was traveling the next day morning. On the day of check-in, I received a msg that says "Thank You " for staying with us when I was still on my way driving up to OOTY !! This was a msg that was sent to me as per my checkout when I still had to check in !! I gave the check-in time during my booking at 8-9 PM. On my way up, I called the property to ask for directions to put on the Google map, the staff who picked up was very rude at 9 AM !! He said you come to OOTY and call. He was not interested in conversing and wanted to shoo me away. When I tried to give him my confirmation number, he actually said "All that I don't know, you reach, and if we have we will give " I again tried to call him back as this was shocking to me, but thrice he kept disconnecting my calls. I did not have a network en route so I called again at 6 pm to check the status and ask for the location, this guy understood my call and disconnected again. I realized there was something fishy. And there it was, they had sold my CONFIRMED booking to other people !!!! From 8 in the evening ( as per my given time of arrival ) I was stranded with no place to go till midnight since Ooty was all sold out. Pardon my language, but this asshole needs to go, or be replaced with an area of work. I want to know , what will Booking.com do as an aggregator to secure its customer ?

I made a reservation via booking.com the day before my arrival. When I turned up at the property the next evening there was nobody to be seen. I finally found an employee who spoke little English. He told me the hotel was full, and there was no room for me. Eventually a woman arrived and told me that they did not receive my reservation, so there was nowhere for me to sleep I showed her my confirmed reservation from booking.com. I even showed her messages that I had received from the hotel, confirming my reservation, via the booking.com app. She said these were just automated messages, and they didn't actually write them. So I didn't get to sleep in the hotel because they 'didn't get' my reservation. They said this happens sometimes. To make matters worse, there was no Wi-Fi on the property that I could use to find a new hotel. Thankfully, the two employees drove me around Ooty, going from hotel to hotel, until we found a place with vacancy, which was difficult on a Saturday night in the high season. I really did not appreciate that they lost my reservation, but I appreciate that they found me another hotel to sleep in. The location of the property wasn't great. It's far removed from the city centre, but it's not in the countryside either. It's just beside a busy road on the outskirts of town.

The property had not reserved my room and never contacted me to pay the advance amount. When we reached our destination after a tiring drive of almost 9 hours, the property rudely refused the booking. This is a big scam going on in all properties in Ooty, as the demand arises they immediately increase the rates and sell out the rooms. My question is what is the use of us booking room through this website and going to our destination without the property reserving the rooms. pls think twice if you have to book the properties like this.

Easy to navigate. View from the valley view rooms is outstanding. side view rooms too are not bad but nothing compared to the 2 valley facing rooms. Great cleanliness and upkeep although the accommodation is pretty basic.
