The Historic Mansion

Cluttered and very very dusty. So much dust on every surface my allergies were awful. I did not complete the 3 night reserved stay.

Cannot beat the location! Walking distance to Yale, Sally's, Pepe's, and the train station. The host was extremely kind and accommodating, and provided ample info about the both the history of the house, and things to do and see in New Haven. The building is full of interesting art and handmade dolls, which are an attraction in themselves. Overall highly recommended!

We thought the check in time of 6pm was a little late, but the host was accommodating.

Like the name says, it's an old mansion that is nicely maintained with lots of paintings, ceramics, dolls and other artwork decorating the walls and rooms -- it's an Airbnb vibe. The location is great -- easy access from I-91 freeway and a 10-minute walk to the New Haven Green and the heart of the Yale area. The bed was relatively firm and comfortable, the shower and facilities worked fine, and the friendly owner made it a pleasant stay. There's a coffee shop right across the street!

Parking is a challenge but I was lucky to find a street spot across from the hotel.

Hospitality and location. Room had microwave and mini fridge along with cool AC. Great history on mansion.

Cleanliness of room, very dusty on furniture and behind bed. Carpets need replacing as does toilet that has to have flush valve held. Rooms do not need individual computers on desk to take up space and outlet.

My room and bathroom were very clean. The common area has very interesting and unique collections of dolls and collectibles. Nick was very kind and flexible in letting me leave my luggage at the mansion before check-in. Room was plenty warm with the space heater.

I am a little bit allergic to dust but it was not too bad. If you are expecting something modern and updated, this won't be the place for you. The location is about 1 miles from campus, so not too far but not a quick walk.

Walking distance to Little Italy. The large bed was comfortable but the small bed not so much.

The decor was eclectic and not what we were expecting. The owner of the house is a talented sculptor and her dolls was nice however they were everywhere.

Excellent location - safe and very walkable. Right next to restaurants and cafes and about 15 min walk to campus. The host was very nice and welcoming.

A little dusty in the corners and under furniture but all the linens and bathroom were clean.
