Bessie upgraded our room without extra costs. She did everything to make us feel welcome. Liked the special touches (home baked rusks, coffee, etc). Lovely location, quiet street. Near restaurants and museums. Enjoyed the walks with views on the mountains. We'll be back!

Very good location to historic area of Swellendam and eateries.

Perhaps a hair dryer, but not a big deal in summer.

The location is great and the property was clean. Host is friendly and welcoming.

I have never bad reviewed an accommodation establishment. I understand that things go wrong sometimes, and not everything is always under control. However, our overnight stay was really not acceptable. The room (very small converted pitch roof attic) was hot, airless, and the aircon was broken. Fortunately, the ceiling is made of softer iso-board, so the many times we hit our heads (bed, shower, and toilet) it didn't hurt as much as it was annoying. There are very steep steps to the attic, so we couldn't bring in luggage. Anyone with knee, back, or age-related difficulties will really struggle here. The kitchen was in the entrance hall to the house, and other guests walk through on their way to their rooms. The bed was really bad. Granted, we are both 1.84m tall but we genuinely felt we were sleeping on the baseboard. I am sure that any room other than the attic is perfectly lovely but after a sleepless and very uncomfortable night, we left before 7am. This was definitely not we expected based on the photos at all.

Everything was so cosy an comfortable. great place to spend the weekend and just unwind. Would def recommend 33 Berg.
