Tom's Guest House

David is an attentive and caring host and we were made to feel very welcome. The property is situated below Table Mountain, well-positioned for Cape Town's attractions and close to sites of interest and good restaurants. Rooms were comfortable and bathrooms clean with good water pressure in the showers. Nice breakfast in the morning -- my son and daughter especially liked the pancakes!

There was a slight hiccup with the number of rooms booked (a mistake on the booking site, not with the host) but David sorted things out quickly and we were given an additional room. It's worth noting that not all rooms have views, so if you want that you will need to specify.

David was the best host. Sylvia made such awesome breakfast for my son and I. Loved our visit to Toms Guest House. Will be back for sure ...

Cant really complain about anything ... if anything, the kettle cord is too short so had to boil it placed in the floor. Not a big deal

TV dated not working reliably

We arrived early morning - long before check-in, but Gunther and Martin greeted us warmly and invited us to sit by the pool with a cup of tea until our room was available. Our room was spotless, spacious and well-equipped with an iron, hairdryer and tea/coffee making facilities. There was also a sofa and a spacious wardrobe which housed the safe. Very comfortable beds and pillows. A great bathroom with plenty of towels and toiletries. There was a guest fridge in the kitchen for personal stock of cold drinks, as well as an honesty fridge with beer, wine, water and soft drinks. Buffet breakfast was plentiful, varied, and I had the best omelettes! Great jam, too - it was homemade, but not by Gunther - he could have lied, but he didn't! 😂 Gunther's advice is worth heeding (Ubers are inexpensive, safe and plentiful), and his restaurant recommendations never failed us. We would stay here again in a heartbeat!

Very nice cute little house near the Gardens centre which is convenient. Staff was very friendly and helpful. Nice little pool and outdoor area to relax in the evening. Great for solo travellers or for those travelling for work.

The room could get stuffy but that wasn't really the fault of the guesthouse as loadshedding turned off the fan so that would happen anywhere. Overall I was very pleased with my stay.

Tom's Guesthouse has an excellent location. Table Mountain and Lionshead are only a few minutes drive away. Great breakfast and nice rooms equipped with everything you need for a pleasant stay. Martin and Günther, the hosts, are very friendly and accommodating and give super tips for things to do in and around Cape Town.

I recently stayed at Tom's Guest House which exceeded all of my expectations. The location was great - it was safe and convenient to all the places I wanted to visit. But what really made my stay special was the kindness and hospitality of the hosts. They went above and beyond to make me feel at home and to ensure that I had everything I needed. The service was also top-notch - everyone was friendly and attentive. And the breakfast was delicious! The atmosphere of the Guest House was relaxed and comfortable, and I felt like I could truly relax and enjoy my vacation. I highly recommend the Guest House to anyone looking for a great place to stay, and I would definitely book again in the future.
