The View

There was no plates to use since its a self catering .Wifi was very bad . The towel in the bathroom was damp . There was no water filled in the kettle nor a jug .

The place was tranquil and peaceful, offering a true sense of calm. The rooms were spacious and comfortable, and the natural surroundings created exactly the environment I had been seeking. The location was ideal, and the dining area was both beautiful and highly photogenic.

The swimming pool was advertised as operational; however, upon our arrival it was not functional. In addition, the restaurant offered only the bare minimum, and several items listed on the menu were unavailable. Overall, the food offering could be improved across all meals, from breakfast through to dinner.

The setting is beautiful, with a peaceful, lovely pond and surrounding area. The rooms were clean and comfortable. The bathrooms have clearly been updated and were very functional and nice. Although the booking was for a family room with one double bed and two single beds—which isn’t really suitable for adults—the wonderful staff ensured we had an additional room so our two adult children didn’t have to share a bed. We greatly appreciated their flexibility and willingness to accommodate us.

Given that we were staying in the Kokstad area, dining options for dinner are limited. There is an “onsite” restaurant, but it was not open either that evening or the following morning. This is a significant drawback, especially as the rooms are not self-catering. As a result, guests either have to travel back to Kokstad for standard fast food or take a chance on nearby places that may or may not be open. It was a real pity. The property also has enormous potential, and it is clear that the owners are making an effort. However, it would benefit greatly from a substantial investment to upgrade the facilities and raise overall standards.

It was a bad experience.

Only one coffee mug for 2 people.No coffee in room,only one bath towels,no soap,no toilet paper ,solid sour milk in fridge,black mould on blind in family room,no bath mat,booked 2 rooms only one ready on arrival, breakfast paid for kitchen was closed.

There were no towels available. The lights in the room didnt work. The swimming pool was filthy and the guests that checked in the same time as us had a dead bat in their room. This place is nothing like the website.

The little dam was pretty.

The accommodation wasn't great. Thankfully the manager on duty helped us find a room that was better.

There were lots of noisy visitors that weren't staying in the accommodation coming in and going out till midnight on a Sunday night. With vehicles blasting music and spinning wheels and people shouting all round, there is clearly no access control and it felt like we had booked into a shebeen for the night
