Castor Bay Homestay

It had everything we needed and it was in an excellent location.

We had another fantastic stay at the Castor Bay Homestay. The owners have thought of everything to make a stay in their beautiful space super. We enjoyed the comfy bed with stunnning linen and furnishings, clean and modern shower with fantastic water pressure and the easy arrival and check-in. It is great to be able to park right outside, be led the way up with bright and safe lighting and find a wee bottle of wine waiting for us! The extra goodies are much appreciated - the Nespresso machine, the wee chocolates and tidy wee kitchen with great facilities. We love it and we'll stay again. Thank you so much.

Die Gastgeber, Peter und Fiona, waren ausgesprochen freundlich und unkompliziert. Sie gaben uns super Tipps für die Umgebung. Die Lage ist besonders toll. Mit dem Auto oder Bus ist man schnell in Auckland, zu Fuß in wenigen Minuten in einer Café mit gutem Café und noch ein Stückchen weiter an einem wunderschönen Strand. Wir haben uns so wohl gefühlt und würden jederzeit wiederkommen.

It was awesome. Hosts very friendly. Left us with some lovely treats. So thoughtful. The place was spotless bed nice and firm and bedding and towels snow white.

This is not a moan and personally I love dogs and loved giving them a pat, but they should really state on the blurb that dogs are close by and sometimes in the room as other travellers might have allergies. Lovely dogs though.

Great location - near beach, beautiful luxurious bed linen, (bed a little hard though) lovely shower and the best part would have to be the treats (wine and chocolate) and fresh milk, cereal and fruit 😊

Only disadvantage would be that you can hear talking, walking around and tv going in the main house. Was ok during the day but not when trying to sleep at night

I loved how nostalgic the place was inside it brought a bit of my childhood memories with some of the vintage items, books and games, even marbles and the paintings , and it was super comfortable and cozy. However, I did wake up as I am a light sleeper from the stepping sounds from above, but overall, my stay was beautiful. I also loved how they prepared little snacks for their guests which was very thoughtful of them and had exceeded my expectations accordingly.

Probably the noise from next door and above me. I wasn't sure how to use the coffee machine properly, I wasn't sure if I had to take the wrap off the pod or just put the coffee pod inside as there were no instructions.
