Furkat Guest House

Pretty much everything! The location is perfect - 5 mins on foot to Registan, 15 mins to Bibi Hanym. There’s no better place. Delicious and abundant breakfast. But most of all - the host, he’s an amazing guy, who treated us like family, and we felt really at home. The place has a cozy inner yard where one can relax during the day when the sun is the hottest, drink tea or eat fruit (buy them at Syab market!). All in all an amazing experience!

The other staff (the rest of the family besides the owner)/ the ladies and the kid were really nice and helpful. The breakfast was nice.

The owner was unfriendly and agressive. No wifi. The beds were uncomfortable, the mattresses seemed really old/grimy and the rest of the furniture and facilities was very old. The shower knob broke and flooded the bathroom and the owner first blamed me for it.

Two weeks before my trip, I contacted the owner through Booking.com and asked whether they could accommodate my late arrival at around 2:00 AM. He agreed without any issue. After a long flight to Samarkand, I arrived at the hotel at the agreed time, but nobody was at the reception. After waiting for some time, I finally managed to wake up the owner. Instead of helping, he rudely asked why I had arrived so late and said that “normal tourists arrive during the daytime.” I reminded him that we had already agreed on the late check-in. I had booked 4 nights and even showed him my Booking.com reservation, but he denied it and showed me his notebook where he had written down only 1 night with a completely different price. I calmly explained that I had a confirmed reservation for 4 nights at the listed price and asked if I could simply pay and check in. He replied that I was “making too many claims,” then literally left me outside at 3:00 AM in the rain and went back to sleep, saying we could “discuss the booking” when he woke up around 8:00 AM. I had nowhere to stay and was forced to find another random hotel in the middle of the night. So I want to warn future guests: 1. Avoid arriving at night. 2. Be aware of the owner’s extremely poor hospitality, unprofessional behavior, and rudeness.

The guy at the front desk was brilliant!
