The scenery

They were unprepared and werent expecting us. The cottage wasn't ready and still needed to be tidied up. The cottage we booked wasn't the one we ended up staying in. There was no water in the swimming pool. There was little to no communication with the staff. It's supposed to be a cheetah sanctuary. I couldn't see any cheetah and couldn't find any staff to ask. When we were leaving, we went to look for someone to help us with directions. We saw them in the main house but no one would come to the door so we left.

Once inside the cottage it was lovely and spacious. Area is very quiet and peaceful with lots of birds. The sunset was amazing.

We were not aware that we would have to bring our own wood, even so we expected to be able to buy wood from the main house. It is very far from everything guests should be warned to bring everything they need. It should be better sign posted as there is absolutely no signal and we could not find the accomodation and nobody from the area knew were it was. So we got very lost. There was a small 2 plate stove and only one plate worked so out of frustration we left the following morning.

Quirky and super fun place to stay - Doesn't look like much from the outside but very well geared and attention to detail. Rustic but chic!

All good - maybe a corner to be out of the wind

Proximity to main house and workers Could do with little things like shower head being fixed and bit more emphasis on cleaning Mosquitoes

Took one look and left to find other accommodation

Absolutely Nothing

Very badly/non existent signposted road One small hard to read sign off the main road. Then nothing. We got lost, with no cell signal. Only when we arrived were we told it was self catering ONLY!! All other accommodation we booked on this trip was self catering with an option for dinner & breakfast or at least restaurants close by. We don’t know the area at all. We arrived with no food to self cater so we had to turn around and get back to the main road and the onto Clanwilliam to look for alternative accommodation. Iziba is 40 kms off the main road on a bad gravel road. You won’t find directions in google and your sat nav will tell you it can’t find a route. If extremely remote, laborious to get there and barren landscape is what you’re looking for then by all means, this is the place to stay in.
