Iziba Principality

Mit einer Kollegin haben wir die Abgeschiedenheit im Biedouw Tal für ein Arbeitswochenende ohne Ablenkung durch Internet und Netz mit wunderschöner Umgebung genutzt. Der Empfang war freundlich und hilfsbereit. Die Unterkunft - vermutlich umgebaute Ställe- sind liebevoll und originell gestaltet und mit angemesserer Grundausstattung ausgerüstet.Kleiner Backofen mit zwei Kochplatten, Braai, Kühlschrank und Wasserkocher ermöglichen einfaches Lagern und Kochen, was sinnvoll ist, da die nächsten Restaurants oder ähnliches 44 km entfernt sind. Die etwas kühleren Nächte im August konnten wir gut mit Feuer im Kamin und Wärmflasche im Bett aushalten. Die letzte Stunde Anfahrt geht über Schotterstraße und durch eine kleine Furt, was aber auch mit dem VW Polo machbar war. Ein traumhaft schönes Tal vor allem in der Flower Season.Perfekt zum Entspannen und Entschleunigen. Die Kommunikation im Vorfeld war unproblematisch und hilfreich. Vor Ort waren auch Personen ansprechbar, um etwas nachzufragen oder Hilfe zu bekommen. Hundefreunde werden ihre Freude daran haben, dass der Hund vor Ort sich über Besuch freut und den Gästen gerne Gesellschaft leistet.

My time was to short

We loved the secluded location and very romantic stay in our beautifully decorated cottage. Meeting the cheetah was a very special experience.

Everything! It is warm and cozy!

There were no comfortable way to wash dishes or anything provided for the accomodation. Tents are equipped tough. Difficult to prepare food with no proper table. Basics would be nice.

The location was perfect, the place beautiful, it was ideal .. the cedarberg is massive , you can drive for hours if the place is not named.. no signal, no GPS.. had the owner put up a sign indicating the property then everything would have been 💯 perfect.. instead I drove 70kms extra trying to find Mietjiesfontein not [Iziba] finally arriving at another farm (neighbor) the gentleman pointed us in the right direction this was almost 3 hours later. I was recently diagnosed with cancer, I wanted to be in nature ..sadly when I found the property, half the day gone, money and time wasted due to the owner decided to use another name than the one provided by booking.com.. the owner was away, in his place we were met by a rather cocky rastfarian who says its booking.com fault for this mess up, they continue using the old name mietjiesfontein instead of Iziba. I asked him how is this booking.com fault? The neighbor from the other farm, said that he has had atleast 10 other people coming to him looking for this exact property, also the owner knows of this problem, I'm apparently not the first, yet he takes the money and leave people searching for the property in that way he does not have to do a darn thing just make money and provide nothing in exchange, infact his little helper at the farm is in on the scam .. this should be investigated , this guy was so unhelpful, so rude , like he could care less.. the owners dog was hungry , thirsty in that incredible heat, the dog stayed with me in that time.. either the owner is trusting someone sinister or they in this scam together.. booking.com got the blame because they did not provide a sign indicating the property name that was provided by booking.com.. here's the worse part, the little "helper" told me he has 5 new guests arriving on Friday afternoon , we waited day and night for these 5 guests to arrive, they never did ??? Lost? SCAM? for sure plz do not support this. My entire wknd was spoilt..

kitchen is poorly equipped and needs attention. Other than that, the place is perfect.

The tranquility and the fact that there was no cell phone signal or internet! The accommodation was amazing.

Seeing that I stayed in a luxury tent, the wind did create quite a bit of noise at night.
