Utu Homestay

Location was the best thing in our stay, central of Ubud. The staff was friendly and helpful throughout our stay. Our room was clean and well-maintained, which we appreciated. However, this was overshadowed by other issues.

The breakfast provided could be improved. Despite the cleanliness, our room had a persistent bad smell, particularly in the bathroom. This made our stay uncomfortable and unpleasant. There was a barking and somewhat aggressive dog in the entrance and occasionally in the hallway. My wife has a severe allergy to dogs and is also very scared of them. We politely requested the owner to remove the dog from the common areas, but she refused. Instead, she suggested we use the back door, which led to a much longer and poorly lit road. This was neither a practical nor safe alternative. I believe that the owner should prioritize the comfort and needs of its guests. The owner’s unwillingness to accommodate our reasonable request was disappointing and demonstrated a lack of consideration for guest well-being.

I loved my stay at Utu Homestay. I got a super spacious room with a double bed, a large bathroom, and daily housekeeping. The bed was super comfortable and all the furniture was in great condition. The location was ideal. Very close to the Ubud centre but not close enough to be bothered by the crowds or the traffic. There were a few good restaurants right in front of the homestay as well. It was very convenient. Ketut was a great host as well. Super friendly and was willing to help me with anything over WhatsApp. The Balinese compound of the homestay was very lovely and I loved getting to meet the members of a family (and the dog!) as I was going in and out. I really couldn't have asked for a better place to stay in my first time in Bali.

I noticed some stains on the duvet on the first day but Ketut quickly responded when I requested a change of sheets.

This lovely property is conveniently located in central Ubud. Ketut the owner was so helpful and the staff cleaned the room every day, it was comfortable, spacious and well air conditioned.

Be warned that in Bali there is always something, roosters, street noises or construction projects. UTU Homestay was very quiet at night with no roosters or street noises but next door there is construction during the daytime next door. This is temporary and it did not disturb me or diminish the experience for me at all.

Room and bathroom were huge and so clean. Delicious breakfast every morning. Really attentive staff and perfect location.

Everything was perfect except for the unfriendly dog at the entrance :( We didn't feel too safe coming and going when there were no people around.

The stay was perfect! Ketut and Nyoman were so lovely and the place was super clean and cozy. The breakfast is good and the location is the best in Ubud so far!!

Honestly we did not find anything that needed improvement. It’s really nice and a great value.

I was happy to live in Utu Homestay in Ubud! The host Ketut was very polite and nice and answered all my questions day and night! The room was very clean and smelt very well! Bed was big, comfortable with new linen and sheets! Where were several options of breakfast, I tried, and everything was very fresh and tasty Also it is a good location in quet place, but I could reach all I need by foot: restorants, massage, shops! So I haven't used a bike! Everything was close to Utu Homestay! I love this place! 5 stars!
