Cozy 1BR stay in Taupo Central

Provided own breakfast. Location okay . Very quiet.

Was given a check out time of 10am. Folder on table with a list of house rules gives check out at 10.30am! Needs amending. Had trouble getting the smart tv to work. A set of instructions would be helpful. Access to the outside spa pool was thorough a door in the main room. The tv aerial cable comes through the doorway which meant the door does not close properly. Had a cold draught coming in all the time in the gaps at the top and bottom of the door which made it hard to warm the place up. These are easy fixes so suggest they be done asap.

Spa pool wasnt very warm the next morning .had to jump into the shower to warm myself up..had to get water from the bathroom for the kettle and dishes..

Apart from the missing door handles, no sink to wash dishes, an issue with wifi to begin with, a creepy deer photo staring at us, heating issue with the lounge door to spa not closing. the awful noise from the people staying next to us, thumping and running all hours of the night we had to knock and ask them to be quiet as it sounded like they were falling through our roof at 3am and we couldn’t sleep.

Location was great Bed was comfy

Spa pool was un usable. Opend and smelt like a stagnant pond. Living area was more bed than a couch. Chairs very uncomfortable. TV was terrible as seems like we were fighting with the people next door. Both controlled the same TV and ended up just Turing it off.

The spa was heated all the time and very private. Shower water pressure is amazing.unit smells nice and clean. Free wifi.

This unit is a part of a house, we thought we were getting a hotel. Only one power outlet in the whole unit was working so we had to charge everything in the one spot where the kettle was, Laptops, phones and had to go buy an extension cord to watch tv, host offered to come check it out but thought it would’ve been a waste of time doing it while we were there since we were only staying for 2 nights. “Kitchette” area is inside a closet with a microwave and bar fridge with no proper counter space to make a coffee, only had the bathroom sink to wash dishes in. Guests for the rest of the house came in on our second day and you can literally hear everything, walking, talking, coughing. Bed is so uncomfortable had to sleep on the floor the second night, there is no couch in the lounge, only a single bed with no wall to lean on to watch tv comfortably. Had to pay an extra $30 on top of the already expensive accommodation for our dog which we were not aware of until the day before. Pet friendly but nowhere for dog to go doodoo comfortably as they had their campervan and trailer parked in the back on the grass. Spa water needs to be changed, it smells really bad like the smell of mould. Overall don’t think the price we paid was worth the stay.

our good overall score is a reflection of a nice 1 bedroom unit that needs some attention to customer expectations but there are issues that can quickly be improved cheaply...refer Although easily installed there is no place/bench to prepare snacks or meals except on the fridge (there is a small eating table across the room but is needed to eat off etc .."kitchenette " a bit of a stretch as well as there is no where to do dishes ...a small 600 x 450 plastic basin is provided to do the dishes in the awkward cramped shower room basin little storage for food etc No Sky and a complicated tv remote (should be user friendly but is not) that took an age to find and register a channel for viewing ..We did not see an instruction manual for this system ...= frustrating after a long drive....... although the room warmed as above a constant cold draft came through the Spa room door which cannot be closed as a c TV cable has been purposefully jammed in it to stop it closing Noise from next door was annoying but tenant quitened at midnight ...every whisper of conversation can be heard from next door --some interesting and rather private we thought.. ... ...All things mentioned here can be and should be overcome hopefully before our next stay

The spa was great.

No bench space for making tea and coffee and although there was detergent and cloths we were not going to do dishes in the bathroom.
