Cozy 1BR stay in Taupo Central

Clean and tidy. Great location

Spa pool was cleaned for arrival which was great but was still cold for first night. As we were there for rhe Taupo ultra marathon on sat the spa was a big reason for picking the accommodation. Shower head also was faulty and wouldn't stay in position. Both very small things but also pretty key for this trip.

Very disappointing stay. The place needs some love and it really could use a good clean. It didn't look much like the photos in the listing. Note that there is no kitchen, you have to wash dishes out of the tiny bathroom sink - I for one am not convinced the cleaners would go through much trouble to clean cutlery and dishes thoroughly in this way. Even the chairs had large stains. The towels were old, and the hot tub and surrounding area were just filthy. You can also hear the people upstairs walking, talking and watching TV clearly. The BBQ is filthy, the yard is unkept with old furniture, a caravan, a trailer and all sorts of things just lying around - dead plants at the back. And a note, if you bring your dogs, it's not fully fenced. It really isn't the nice relaxing vacation space it looks like. We just got a pizza delivered, slept on top of the bedding, and then left super early. See photos before you book.

The SPA pool was private and comfortable.

The guest next door was a bit too noisy, speaking to loudly in the morning waking up early .

Hard beds, shower head was broken the other guests that stayed were very noisy we could here it all. No cable tv and the door from spa to main living area.

A lot! First of all this place is an air B&B and not mentioned in the listing. You think you are booking a lodge. The contact person wasn’t very warm or welcoming with their communication. When we arrived, the house was freezing. There was a small heater which wasn’t doing much. The listing said fireplace. There was no wood, no lighters or tools. I had to go and buy wood and matches at 8pm because everyone was freezing. There were noisy neighbours next door. There is a thin door separating you from them. You can literally hear every word. We were woken to loud music at 5am. I’m sure they didn’t know how thin the walls were. My wife banged on the door a few times and they turned the music off. However you can hear every step and creak upstairs when people walk. There isn’t a kitchenette, you have to use the bathroom sink to get water or wash cutlery. Totally not worth the money.
