Cozy 1BR stay in Taupo Central

The property was advertised as pet friendly, there was a private spa which was lovely, central location, clean and tidy.

We booked stating that we had a dog. We got a response from property manager stating that was fine but that the owners would have to be notified. We paid upfront upon booking. After staying out second of three nights, we were contacted by the property manager stating 'we see you have a dog', there is an additional fee of $40 required to be paid. Not cool, this should have been stipulated at the time of booking. We paid the fee, and suggested, they deal with this fee differently going forward as state it on the booking site. We were told there was no platform to do that on. Then why not communicate that in the first email upon booking.

We didn't get instructions how to access the property till the next day. We tried contacting the number provided on the email confirmation from our booking, but got no answer. I had 2 baby's with me and had to find accommodation elsewhere. This is the only accommodation I've had problems with checking in out of the many places I have booked.

No communication No reply till it was too late

Only a few minutes away from the main shops and lakefront Taupo makes Spa pool Treat a great location. Being able to book a stay for your dog as well is fantastic and I will definitely do so next time.

Bed was very comfy and it was nice and clean. Great location. Good that it was dog friendly.

It was very noisy. We could hear everything happening in the other part of the house including tv’s, kids running around and everyone going up and down the stairs. The doors between the lounge and the spa area didn’t close properly which meant there was a lot of wind that came in through the gaps. The spa was in poor condition and there was no light out in the area it was situated.

Property is very insecure. Spa is accessible from outside, and protected by a rickety door. Parking was not onsite which was why I booked. Appears first in first served. They could relocate the trailer blocking the garage to provide extra parking. At the rear of the property a caravan could also be relocated to also provide more parking. There are no dish washing facilities.
