This place was an absolute gem. It was in such a peaceful area, yet still fairly close to town. It was an easy 30 minute walk to the center and there were a few little cafés and restaurants close by. It was located on a beautiful little lake and was so quiet and it was a great place to rest and recharge. The host was absolutely wonderful and she was so accommodating and helpful and made delicious authentic breakfasts. I would definitely recommend this place if you are spending some time in CatBa.

We had the best time in CornerCatBa. The host family couldn’t be any kinder. Thanh helped us to book Lan Ha Bay and Ha Long Bay tour, transfers from/to Hanoi and Ninh Binh, did the laundry for us, recommended restaurants and cafes and cooked delicious breakfasts. She also helped to arrange a taxi for us to take us to Cat Ba National Park and even prepared bahn mi, snacks and water for us for free. The location of the accommodation was also great away from all the noise of Cat Ba Town with a beautiful view of the lake. We felt very special to experience Vietnamese hospitality and authentic experience. Thanh (our host) was so generous and kind, we felt like part of the family from the moment we arrived. If you want to experience true Vietnamese hospitality, look no further.

The only thing we noticed is the room got a little damp due to high humidity but we found this in other accommodations in the North as well.

It was a quiet and peaceful setting looking at a pond. The hostess speaks good English and is very helpful and attentive. She is also an excellent cook so we are both breakfasts and dinners there. The bed was comfortable. Not the fanciest but one of my favorites. Highly recommend. She also recommended a wonderful guide we hired: King Cong Travel.

The city was doing work on the electric grid during the night so power shut off temporarily not the fault of the Accomodation and they had a generator for backup.

The host was amazing, she gave us good local tips:) The area is really chill and quite.

Catba Corner is an incredible homestay, mostly due to the caring and kind host Phuong, and her family. She knows everything there is to know about the island, is constantly making sure you have anything you need, and kindly opens her home to guests. Could not have possibly asked for more from a host!

The bed is very very firm. If you are a good or hard sleeper you'll be fine but for the lighter sleepers among us, it is a little hard to get and stay comfortable. Also, there are roosters but nothing earplugs don't fix!

CornerCatBa is a very comfortable, clean, quiet bungalow with a beautiful view and little garden. The accommodation is on a quiet side street. It is the most peaceful and idyllic place in Vietnam and we enjoyed it very much. We also had dinner (sea food hot pot) in the homestay and it was delicious. It was an unforgettable peaceful time.

The only thing that needs getting used to is the bathroom with the shower in the middle and a wet floor and it is always humid. But it's a minor inconvenience that you'll find everywhere in Vietnam. We would definitely stay here again.

We got a very friendly, cheerful welcome from Phong. She was really helpful all through our stay, and even afterwards because she looked after our bags for another day. The rooms are comfy and quiet, breakfast was great and we really appreciated that Phong catered carefully for our dietary requirements (vegan and vegetarian). The location was away from the main road and busy parts of town, so it was nice and quiet and we enjoyed seeing hawks fishing in the lake. Bear in mind it isn't in the centre of town - but we appreciated this! It took us about 30mins to walk to the harbour, or Phong can help organise a taxi. Stay here - I really recommend it!

Phuong was very friendly and gave us lots of good advice about things to do on the island. She had scooters available for rent, which made it easy to get around. Each breakfast was different and always included a generous amount of fresh fruit. She even made us banh mi to bring with us on our hike in the national park. Her 6 year old son is very talkative and likes to practice English and play with the guests.

The owners were so friendly and helpful our whole stay, always available to answer questions and help rent motorbikes. They even scootered to the downtown area when I ran out of gas on my bike to get me back on the road again! Room was spacious and bed was a little firm but still comfortable. Shower had really strong water pressure, I found that it was better to use less than max pressure to make sure I had enough hot water. Location was great, quiet since it's away from town but a short 5 minute scooter ride into town. Beautiful views of the lake right outside. Also even though it's a little out of the main area, the transfer services I used knew where the hotel was and could do pickup/dropoff on the main road 100m from the hotel. Breakfast was different every day and so good, cooked fresh by the owners. Couldn't ask for a better stay!

I had to squeegee the bathroom floor after showering, otherwise there would be standing water - maybe the drain needs cleaning
