Nallur Residence

Staying at Nallur Residence truly feels like being at home, thanks to the warm welcome and excellent hospitality of Mr. Haran. I stayed there for a week while visiting the Jaffna Library and University for my research, and the location was incredibly convenient for commuting. The place is calm, perfect for relaxing and reading. The breakfast was exceptional, with a generous serving of fresh fruits. Additionally, unlimited water bottles, tea, and coffee are included in the stay, making it even more comfortable. The staff is attentive and ensures a pleasant stay—they change sheets and clean the rooms whenever you request. We will definitely choose this place again whenever we visit Jaffna. The location is also ideal for evening strolls along Nallur Temple Road, which is a delightful experience. As I am native to Tamil Nadu, it felt like home—there was no difference at all. Highly recommended!

Very relaxed, friendly and helpful manager and staff. The standout feature of our stay was the breakfast, which is freshly cooked and will keep you going till dinner time! I have a gluten allergy and the manager made a special point of cooking food which I could eat.

We loved the location, with its easy walk to the temple and proximity to town. However, the highlight of our stay was undoubtedly Mr. Haran's exceptional hospitality. It was truly like visiting relatives.

Best location for us as we were able to go to Temple by walk, Town is near by, Most of all the host Mr. Haran is an excellent host going out of the way to help the guests. We felt like we have visited our relatives and stayed with them.

The Tuk-Tuk charges were high, It is an Old (40+Yrs) property and because of humidity the wooden doors were difficult to open and close..but that is a very minor hick-up when compared to the hospitality offered.

The location is excellent. Jaffna town is only a 10-minute drive. Easy access to Jaffna train station,Jaffna Airport, and the main roads connecting other tourist attractions in the county I have stayed in many hotels in different parts of Srilanka. I confidently say that the 5 nights stay at this residence was the most relaxing, easy-going, and trouble-free stay I ever had in Srilanka. Haran, the owner/manager, is one of the most well-informed and helpful people you can come across. Organising daily breakfast according to the individual needs, transports and advice about the local restaurants etc etc! He even gave us few dollars worth of discount on the final bill!! Customers have to remember that this residence is a 3 star rated hotel but the hospitality you receive is worth 4-5star.

The facilities in the room were quite basic. There is no TV in the room. These did not bother me because we were visiting places during the daytime. The room needs some upgrades and maintenance.

Really wonderful accommodations and friendly, kind host that makes you feel right at home. Beautiful home and large room with powerful a/c and an incredible breakfast every morning. This is my home away from home in Jaffna from now on.

The location is easily accessible, and it has a large yard where we could safely park our car. The breakfast was extremely plentiful and diverse. The host did everything to fulfill our requests, whether it was about the city's attractions, a good restaurant, or a great excursion. We especially enjoyed the Tamil Santa celebration during our stay, which was an extraordinary experience. We also loved the city of Jaffna, which we were able to fully explore thanks to the central location of this place.

The accommodation could use a bit of an update in terms of furniture, but the host’s helpfulness and kindness more than made up for such minor inconveniences.

Harran and his team were very excellent and efficient. They are very friendly and helpful. The breakfast had plenty of choices. Authentic Sri Lankan /Western Breakfast with exotic fruits/juice. They also provide good lunch /dinner at reasonable cost, if you would to have home cooked meal. It is located in very convenient place opposite to the famous Nallur temple. It was fascinating hearing the history of the residence.. Very much enjoyed the stay. We are coming here since 2017 as feel like home to home. We will come back again.
