Fish Island Bungalows

I had an amazing stay at Mr and Mrs Leng's homestay. The location was amazing, in the middle of the local life of Cambodian people. Our room was fan only but it even had 2 fans which made our sleep more comfortable, the bed was good too. The shower had working hot water. Besides Mr Leng also offers different services like motorbike rental and laundry. And got a nice rooftop bar to enjoy the view of the Kampot River and Bokor Mountain. And another plus was they had a lot of cars and baby kittens roaming around. Definetly recommend this homestay and I would book here again when I am back in Kampot.

Fish Island Bungalows bylo nejlepší ubytování během celé naší dovolené v Kambodži. Pan Leng a jeho žena nás úžasně přivítali a během celého pobytu se o nás skvěle starali – opravdu jim záleží, aby hostům bylo dobře. Krásně zvelebují zahradu, která je opravdovým rájem na zemi. Pan Leng pravidelně jezdí do lesa a vozí další rostliny, orchideje, kmeny stromů – je vidět, že se o místo s láskou stará. Snídaně byla skvělá – každý den jsme si dávali omeletu, k tomu výbornou kávu z normálního pákového kávovaru s italskou kávou a nejlepší rozpečenou bagetu s marmeládou! Určitě s ním vyrazte na prohlídku Rybího ostrova, na kterém se ubytování nachází. Také vám rád zařídí tuktuk s řidičem na prohlídku pepřové farmy a města Kep, kde je vyhlášený krabí trh. Moc děkujeme za krásný pobyt a snad se sem někdy vrátíme!

Le propriétaire, est extraordinaire! Et son hôtel est vraiment bien! Nous avons passé un super moment dans cet établissement. A ne pas manquer, le rooftop,avec une jolie vue sur Kampot. Petit déjeuner et restaurant sur place très bon. On peut y aller sans hésiter! Loin du centre ville, loin du bruit, mais à 7 minutes en tuk tuk ...

Il manque une bouilloire dans la chambre, sinon la présence du frigo est un plus!

Nous avons passé un très bon séjour au Fish Island Bungalow. Merci à Mr Leng pour ses excursions magnifiques, sa gentillesse, son humour, sa gaieté et l'excellente cuisine de son épouse. Si l'on repasse par Kampot, nous reviendrons avec plaisir.

Mr Leng is an exceptional host with good English. He really is a positive person, we felt very welcomed in his homestay, from the welcome board at the front with my name written on it, to his cheerful hellooo everytime he sees you and his genuine happy demeanour. No problem is too much to sort out. He helped with onward travel, tours advice, moped hire and his 5pm tuk tuk tour (now 2$) is a must do; he sings as he drives, waves and greets people as he goes and the salt fields at sunset are just magical. Mr Leng gave us a rendition of his sunset song in his resturant on request, which was absolutely wonderful, he has a very good singing voice. Mrs Leng is also very kind and welcoming and is the main cook in the restaurant, the food is good quality, she helped us buy locally made palm sugar and with answering our questions about the moped hire. We stayed at Fish Island Bungalows in February, we were able to chose one of the more modern bungalows rather than the more attractive, rustic looking bungalows which helped a lot with mosquito limitation. The roof top terrace bar is a lovely place to sit and to view the river, listen to local life. Each room also has an outside space overlooking the lovely green and well cared for garden. Mr Leng can tell you the history of each plant in the garden. It's a nice space to be in. This homestay is in a local community rather than the main part of the town which will suit some people and not others. Getting a tuk tuk is not difficult for the short drive. We did walk it once but the tuk tuk is easier for tired legs. We hired one of the guest house mopeds which was good value and worked well, we enjoyed exploring the tiny lanes on Fish Island. Helmets were included in the hire.

Personally I liked it all. It felt safe and homely. If you are not a cat lover or have a cat allergy don't come here. There are a lot. They don't bother you, but it is part of the stay. Equally, this is a rural, riverside Cambodian stay and what goes with that is to be expected, insects, Cockerals, boat noise etc. For me, that is all part of the experience, but better to know before you book if it will be difficult for you.

Très bon accueil de Mr Leng et de ses chats. La chambre était confortable et fonctionnelle, le le rooftop agréable pour se poser avec vue sur la ville. On n'est pas au centre ville, mais c'est aussi ce qui nous a plu.

Mr Leng est très sympathique avec beaucoup d’humour, personnalité locale importante, ce qui est rassurant Je recommande sa sortie pour faire visiter l’ile sur laquelle est implanté son parc hôtelier, très interessante et surtout authentique
