The owner is very friendly and ready to help. The property is immersed in a very green garden. There is a nice view on the river from the rooftop.

The room and the bathroom were very simple and could have been cleaner. For the price we payed, we expected something nicer, having seen the pictures. Unfortunately, we didn’t manage to understand how to have hot water in the shower, or maybe there wasn’t. The rooftop is a nice spot but could use some maintenance.

Just outside of the city itself, fish island bungalows feels like a little paradise! Between the rooftop, the vegetation and the cats we spent every evening of our stay enjoying the property. The best part of course is the people! Mr Leng is an incredible man who cares very much for his guests. He is a warm host who takes the time to show guests around fish island (you can even see bioluminescent algae together if it’s dark enough!). My short stay here was my highlight in Cambodia and I would recommend anyone takes a detour to come here !

Fish Island Bungalows was the perfect place for us to stay in Kampot and probably our favourite in all of Cambodia. We wanted somewhere reasonably central to stay that had a bit of character, but found most interesting options were either quite a way out of the centre, and other more central guest houses seemed rather soulless. Fish Island Bungalows are no more than a 5 minute/£1 Tuk Tuk ride from the centre and we never had to wait more than 2 minutes to get a ride (via Grab). We stayed in one of the air-conditioned rooms with a great view from the balcony over the river towards Kampot. the room was comfortable and the air con was fine. We were visiting in low season so there were few guests and the rooftop bar was not functioning, but was still a great place to relax with our own drinks watching the fishing boats come and go. Mr Leng was a superb host. He gave us all the tips we needed for trips out and even negotiated good rates with trusted drivers for us. However, the absolute highlight was his sunset tour of Fish Island. For about 1.30 hours you can enjoy a delightful tour round the island accompanied by Mr Leng singing and then watch the sun set to Mr Leng singing his sunset song - just magical.

Mr Leng - is probably the best host we’ve ever experienced. A happy welcome as we stepped out of our tuk tuk. A fantastic tour of the island. Location is perfect. Quiet and special on the island but near enough to the bustle of town. We loved his beautiful rooms, roof top views and his kind upgrade to air con! This place is a must stay when you visit Kampot.
