14 Mount Joy

Thank you, David and Johan, for a perfect stay. We loved the little unit with views out to see. Everything was immaculate. They clearly care about their guests. We were walked through the unit when we arrived where they clearly explained the various facilities. I notice people mention the shower as an issue. However, there is no issue if you listen to the explanation provided during orientation. Breakfast was provided every morning in our fridge which we enjoyed on the veranda area. We found a nice peace and quiet at 14 Mount Joy. It was very easy to get around and secure parking was provided. Thanks!

Easy to find, nice location, friendly owner, comfortable bed and room, great breakfast!

Hosts went out of their way to ensure that we were comfortable. The cold beer in frosted glasses was such a thoughtful touch when we arrived after a long drive on a hot day! I got the impression that Johan and David really care about what they’re doing and wanting people to genuinely enjoy their stay.

Johan and David are such lovely people and I really don’t like being critical about their operation. Particularly if it’s something beyond their control! Unfortunately there were 2 things that detracted from what would have been a 5 star review. Firstly, the hot water supply is very erratic which means you have no guarantee of a hot shower. Some days we had lovely hot water, other days it was tepid and one morning it was an ice cold experience. Being summer meant it was less of a concern than if we were there mid winter. The other issue (of greater impact), was the neighbours very yappy dogs. They are let out at 6am each morning and they are very vocal about announcing their presence. If you’re an early riser this will probably not bother you, but it was definitely too early for me on a Sunday morning!

Lovely view and birdlife. The breakfast was a good bonus as well as the welcome drink. Good location.

The unit is not very noise proof.

Staying at Mount joy was even better than we could have imagined. We enjoyed the view over the lagoon a lot and were crazy about dog Gilbert. He's an angel. Owners David and Johan were very kind and friendly as well and made us feel at home. We very much hope that we have the opportunity to come back here!

Comfortable clean accommodation with a lovley view and garden. Friendly hosts.

The monkeys were a nuisance on the first night.
