Ringo's Foyer

Super great location, felt like a very social place to spend time, enjoyed the multiple common areas! The staff were all really lovely and so happy to help and answer questions. Rooftop was a great spot to hang out and the group chat seems like a great idea

The private rooms seem a bit more basic, than the dorms and could maybe use a bit of TLC. There were also lots of ants in some of the bathrooms

Location was great can walk everywhere. The staff and his volunteers were all kind and very nice. Great social atmosphere with Tony organizing events very often like dinners etc. I was ill during our stay and he was really helpful on helping me get to the hospital and checking I was okay! I would totally recommend staying here to hang out with people.

The private room was a bit old and could do with a update. The dorm beds looked nicer. Some of the furniture in the library smelt like cat pee.

Bathrooms could be cleaned more often

Superb location, just a stone throw from Jonker street. Ringo's foyer is a typical old school no frills hostel. Old and worn in the edges, but Hey...I like that. There's sometimes some toilet paper, but BYO everything else....and that's fine for me, as I don't like to pay for things I don't need. The common bathrooms were always clean. I had a private room and although basic, it was surprisingly spacious for a hostel room. It had a window and excellent AC. Towels were supplied, but no blanket or top sheet. I'm self sufficient, so that's fine. The price is right for what you're getting. Excellent WiFi worked everywhere. I absolutely loved the spacious rooftop sitting area. Perfect for BYO evenings. Hot water for coffee or tea is supplied in the reception. Friendly staff.

You can't wear any footwear inside. This is fine EXCEPT for inside the common bathrooms! This is not hygienically at all....and afterwards you're going to bed with potentially something on your feet. Some travellers do carry some kind of only for inside, slippers. Those should be allowed. Also the shoe boxes in the corridor stink. The smell hits you as soon as you enter. The boxes are enclosed, and don't seem to ever be aired out.

The only real backpackers hostel in melaka. Perfect location close to all the attractions, howard is the most amazing host and does everything for you to have a good time. Very nice rooftop terrace where magic can happen. And everything is clean!

Nothing

The owner Howard was super kind and gave amazing recommendations. Staff member Ben was also very helpful and kind! The beds are pod style and pretty comfortable. Communal rooftop has a cool, artsy vibe. Location is perfect to explore malacca.

Bathrooms were a little unclean, and being combined toilet + shower cubicles often meant it was very damp and water was everywhere.
