The Bird Hide - rustic luxury by the water

The location was right amongst the bird sanctuary. How fantastic

Perfect, quiet location. Very comfortable rooms.

The directions are an issue if you use Apple maps. It might be helpful to stress on the website there are 2 units. This means going outside, down the shepherd's hut steps to use the shower and toilet in the other unit. Ok and private but potentially cold in winter.

Perfect location to explore the area (birds, beaches, Huriawa Pa walk, etc.) and enjoy the sunrise -

Very quiet and peaceful location with a lovely view of the lagoon. The sound of the bird life was beautiful. An amazing beach just a short walk away.

We loved the cuteness and quaintness of The Bird Hide, it's position looking over the lagoon and the cleanliness was superb. Very novel. The local pub for tea, the cafe for coffee and cheese rolls. Perfect. Hosts very friendly and available if required, but weren't needed as they had thought of everything. We were seeking peace and back to nature, and that's what we had. We would recommend for a little getaway.

There was nothing that we didn't like

Beautifully set up, clean, new, fresh, stylish, private and cosy. Felt like a really special welcoming place that I could really relax in. Owners respected my privacy the whole time, I felt safe and I had everything I needed.

Nothing! It was all absolutely fabulous. I didn’t mind at all that the bathroom and kitchen area was seperate to the bedroom cabin area. It was all so beautiful.

It is admittedly tiny and a bit odd being divided into two buildings but it is beautiful, clearly put together by craftsmen and artists. The bed was comfortable and we had everything we needed in the kitchen. The location, adjacent to a large lagoon, provides lots of opportunity for walking and wildlife viewing. We loved it!

There wasn’t much space to sit inside but there were a couple of options outdoors.

Wow, what a location if you like birds. Up at 5am taking photos of local birds from inside the "hide" on the garden flowers a few feet away! Its cosy,something different with a really comfy bed, very clean and has a good bathroom and kitchen/eating area a few feet away in the owner's home. This has a private entrance.
