There wasn’t a single thing to like about this property

Very uncomfortable stay, bathroom had cockroaches and the owner was quite rude and racist

Clean room behind the shacks on the beach. Easy to walk to the beach (10 mins). Friendly owner

- location: very close to the beach with some restaurants around - friendliness: staff is always very friendly and smiling

- insects: this was the 10. accommodation we styed in in Sri Lanka and never have there been remotely as many mosquitos and other insects in our room - mold: there was ample mold in the bedroom and especially the bathroom - uncomfortable bed: the bed is about 1.80m long, making it too short for anyone above 1.70m, especially when having tucked in the mosquito net tightly, as was required. Also, the mattress is very thin and uncomfortable - active unhelpfulness: we asked the owner to install a net against mosquitos at the bathroom window. He quickly gathered the necessary equipment, but after 30s consideration he decided "it is impossible and I can't do it" and he can not assist me in doing it either. I ended up fixing it by myself - drunken staff: the staff sat on the porch every day from noon and got drunk together (which may explain the lack of helpfulness). This made us a little uncomfortable when getting back in the evening

the location is great, it's located at 2 blocks from Mirissa beach which is a perfect option if you would like to go and see the sunrise at the beach! the people at the hostel are super friendly and kind, so I felt super welcomed :)

Welcoming staff, very clean and great location close to the bus stop and beach.

The bed was quite hard.
