Gloriya Mathews family villa

Nice guesthouses with friendly staff. The room is big with an AC or just a ceiling fan. Hot water, toilet paper provided. Good location close to the beach.

Super clean room.

It’s really close to the beach, the room was exactly like in the pictures but what makes this place amazing is Gloriya Mathews family! Extremely welcoming and kind people. It was our first night out of 20 night in Sri Lanka so I’ve waited with a review but now I can write it surely - it was THE BEST breakfast that we ate during our whole stay and what’s worst I tried to find those honey hoppers (or at least I think that was it) during our 3 week trip but I didn’t find anything even remotely similar. So take the breakfast - it’s the thing that you want to go back for. The picture just represents half of the breakfast that you’ll get.

Very friendly staff, nice room and good location. We only stayed for a couple of nights before heading to the airport and the room fit our needs perfectly.

The only downside was the mosquitoes in the room when we arrived. While not a major issue because of the mosquito nets over the bed it still made it a bit uncomfortable moving around the room the first night.

Hospitable family, very accommodating - well located for the beach and food.

The family is kind and welcoming. Breakfast is very good but too expensive ($ 4), I never paid that much in 4 months traveling Asia, but there's a lot of food so I guess it's a fair price. The room is ok and there's a fan, which is nice because it's so hot.

I don't think they can do anything about that, but there are tons of mosquitoes (like literally so many of them). The mosquito net has many holes.

The owner got up in the middle of the night so that we could check-in. The room was spacious and clean.

The bathroom was smelling a little, we just did not feel that comfortable staying there.
