Gloriya Mathews family villa

The room was very spacious and the owners were so friendly. They made me the most delicious juice I’ve ever had when I arrived. They were really helpful in telling me how to get to my next destination. Breakfast was huge and delicious.

The people are really kind. AC works well and it is only 5 minutes from the beach. Breakfast is really nice. We also got a mosquito net for the bed.

The toilet is very small and feels a bit claustrophobic. There was a weird smell in the room with 2 beds (the other room was good), after we opened the window it was a bit better. The beds are a bit hard.

The room was big enough with 2 bed which was surprised and comfortable to stay with my mother , the bathroom was clean and big with hot water facility , the owner prepare us breakfast that was so delicious YUMMM! , i would come back to have meals for sure

It was the first time i travel for srilanka , i booked a room for a place to have a good sleep and relax the night ,which i made was a good decision to stay at Gloria matthews , the warm welcome by the host was so good with a hot beverage at late night to ease my tiredness, I recommend for all 100%

A large room with 2 double beds, the host was nice and helpful, there's a common area you can use and it's located nearby the beach and restaurants and shops.

The WiFi didn't work properly (but actually it almost never does in Sri Lanka...), the bathroom floor was always wet and the blankets were not very pleasant (it's the type that's probably never washed).

Lovely family, very friendly and helpful. Arrived at 11pm and they gave me some food at no charge. They lent me an adaptor also so I could charge my phone. Good location for a late flight arrival and close to the beach.

It's not The Ritz so expect a damp, musty smell in the bathroom, mosquitos and the occasional cockroach. No water provided unless requested (for a fee). Negombo is an okay area if you're there for a day post flight but I wouldn't recommend it as a base to explore the city. It's a good hour away from Colombo Fort station and the real hustle and bustle.
