Jagat Villa Guest House

Very friendly, helpful host who accommodated an early check-in and assisted us throughout our stay. Large, clean and comfortable room. Ideal location near the palace and river in the old town. Good shower with hot water. Very good value for money. Area in the garage to park our rental scooter.

Was a little difficult to find as there is no sign at the door. The stairs up to the property are very narrow and steep so difficult to carry luggage up and would be difficult to manage for anyone with mobility issues.

The guest house is very central. You can go to the main attractions on foot. As I female solo traveller,I felt very comfortable with the family. They are kind and supportive. The host arranged the taxi drive to Jodhpur via Ranakpur. His sister cooked very yummy food. Overall,I very much liked the place.

Couple of things for improvement 1. The lighting in the bathroom is a electric shock risk. It needs a permanent fixture, it was loose wire plugged into the socket 2. The wardrobe can be provided with clothes hanger

Vivek and his wife are really nice people. Vivek often checked in with me to see how things were and if there was anything he could provide. He was like a brother figure. Knowing that I needed a sim card, he took me to a trust-worthy local store and explained to me the popular scams when tourists purchase a sim card.

The room was very clean with hot water that works, but it was freezing cold in February. Unfortunately the constant noise from the street was the biggest deal-breaker for a light sleeper like myself. I didn't sleep well during the 2 nights I was there. There was only a short window of complete silence from 1-5am, maybe. I'd recommend staying on the other side of the lake for those who prefer calmer environment.
