Orange Balangan Bungalow

Very quiet place! The staff here (Rob) was such a special character - a pleasing smile and warming welcome to Uluwatu. I had purchased a guitar which I was happy to let Rob use whenever he liked and when it was time to leave I let him have the guitar (I hope he's playing it when you get there!).

The bathroom was nothing spectacular - standard for indo.

AC not working properly

We booked this hotel because it advertised a kitchen, so we brought fresh food expecting there would be a fridge. There wasn’t one, as you would normally expect in any kitchen. We spoke with Robert at reception — he was kind and explained that the more expensive rooms have fridges in the room. We decided to calmly call the manager to see if he could help us find a solution for a couple of days just to store the fresh products we had with us. Instead of listening, he was extremely rude and aggressively screaming, pushing us to pay for a more expensive room. Even though we were trying ask to use a fridge temporarily and willing to pay for it, he would not listened and kept saying repeatedly “Do you have money?” in a condescending tone and eventually hung up on us. Robert was respectful and tried to help, but the manager’s reaction was completely unacceptable. A kitchen without a fridge makes no sense. This started out our stay badly and left us disappointed with the managers behaviour. Would leave 0 stars if it wasn't for Robert's kindness.

I liked my room in the corner of the garden. The pool is grand. Balangan beach down the road is one of the best. Plus sunsets! The attendant is a dear fellow who works hard keeping the place in order and looking after your needs. I hope he gets the odd good tip for cleaning before and after people leave!
