Tarawera River Lodge Motel

My kuri was allowed the customer service was excellent super friendly and welcoming

The property was so accommodating for a couple or small family. Great clean facilities with small little personal touches left for you during your stay. Really loved this motel and would highly recommend it to anyone. Susie the manager is so lovely and really made us feel at home.

Well appointed . Clean, quiet neighbourhood. Easy access. Recently done up. Little touches that were considerate and welcoming

Parking was close. Would be better if each park was allocated to a specific room and other visitors were not considerate

The motel location.

The space was smaller than it looked in the photos. The shower was a step up one onto a metal surface with no hand rails or non-slip mat available. I've been in an accident, and a shower like that can be a serious safety risk for me. Going by the photo, it looked like a walk-in shower. The bathroom itself was very compact. For myself, the bed was uncomfortable. For a 1 night stay, $270 was expensive, especially considering I have stayed in Airbnb homes for less and provided with breakfast cereals, and other snacks and treats etc all inclusive in the price. Mum's rules or whatever it was asked the room be cleaner than when we went in. I've not seen that request before anywhere. (Not that we would have left it in a messy state anyway).
