John's Highland Comfort (Guest House)

Absolutely everything!! The hosts go out of their way to make your stay comfortable. There was a kitchen and washing machine and an ironbox too! The rooms were soooo clean and neatly maintained. Beautiful view from the balcony too! I didn't have any expectations before staying but boy was this one of the best stays ever! Totally worth it and highly recommended.

Other guests don't keep the kitchen clean. Not the hosts fault but guests need to be more responsible

The hosts are good. They have maintained the property very well. Everything was available as pro.ised in the description.

Very clean and quiet. The shared kitchen had a good range of equipment. The washing machine was easy to work. Johns taxi drivers were very good and friendly.

Only one restaurant nearby which was nice but we’d have liked a change. The beach was walkable but, being both over 70, we didn’t find it easy in hot weather.

I recently stayed at John's Highland Guesthouse in March 2024 and had a memorable experience. While the guesthouse may be a bit challenging to locate for some due to its secluded setting, it ultimately depends on individual preferences. If you prioritize privacy and tranquility over easy access to main roads, this is the ideal spot for you. We booked a room for three people initially, but unexpectedly had to accommodate a fourth person at the last moment. The owner graciously allowed us to stay in the same room without any fuss, albeit with a nominal extra charge. The room itself was spacious and comfortable, providing enough space for all of us to relax and unwind. The cleanliness of the rooms and bathrooms was commendable. However, we did encounter a minor issue with the jet spray in the bathroom, which was leaking and resulted in some water wastage. Nonetheless, this was a minor inconvenience that did not significantly impact our overall experience. Overall, my stay at John's Highland Guesthouse was delightful. I would highly recommend it to anyone seeking a peaceful retreat away from the chaos of urban life. The tranquil surroundings, comfortable accommodation, and accommodating staff make it the perfect choice for those looking to unwind and reconnect with nature.

I would suggest the owner to keep more cloth hangers for people who stay beyond 2-3 days, as they might require hangers or drying cloth racks to dry their clothes and used towels. We had to dry our clothes on chairs and door frames which wasnt convenient at all.
