The Lighthouse Negombo

The property itself was well presented, it’s not really a homestay or hotel. The room we were allocated was spacious and the staff accommodated us getting in very late at night. The staff were all friendly, though we speak English which proved to be a bit of a barrier. The pool looked good though we didn’t get a chance to use it as we were headed to the airport, which is still quite a distance away.

The aircon was clunky and the power tripped quite often. The aircon was only turned on downstairs in the morning when we requested, it was very hot and uncomfortable. We felt a bit awkward at this property.

The staff were very pleasant and helpful with providing recommendations. The view from the pool was stunning!

The breakfast provided for two people was 2 eggs, 1 sausage, and 1 fresh juice. We had to request more food since the quantity was insufficient. We were unsure whether this was a genuine oversight or if that is the quantity provided for all since they billed us for 2 breakfast- definitely was not enough food for 2.

Nice welcome from the team, literally on the beach.

House that has been transformed into a hotel / guesthouse; feels neither one nor the other. Needs renovation. A/C not working in one of the room.
