Guest House Tsuu Odawara ゲストハウスTSUU小田原 #OD1

It's a very cosy place with all the necessary amenities (and more). Very well organized, smooth check-in. Convenient location right next to a bus stop. Pleasant living room for guests to use. Plenty of info provided about Odawara and Hakone, with sightseeing ideas for all kinds of weather.

Nothing to complain about, really. There is quite a steep staircase to climb to get there, but it's worth the effort!

Liked the shared space even though didn't use it much Liked that towel was given and also bedsheets and blankets were comfy.

Bed was good size but not the most comfortable.

Clean guest house, with onsite laundry machine. Nice homebase to visit hakone and rent out a car to drive to Fuji.

Location is fine, albeit hard to find (two different taxi drivers had difficulty finding it, as did I the first time). Plenty of hot water in the bathroom. Quiet property. Heating works. Reasonable price, given the season.

All comments below refer specifically to the 'Dada' studio room. The sofa bed is not comfortable - the bar in the centre makes it feel like there's a tree-trunk in the middle of the bed. The only way to lie comfortably without the bar digging into your back/hipbone is to lie to one side of the bar, which means there's about 50cm of 'flat' space (about what you'd get if you simply left the sofa-bed as a sofa) and you can either spend the night squashed against the wall, or feeling like you're about to roll off the bed. I understood that the 'studio' was self contained, specifically that there was a private bathroom. The room has a sink and fridge, but the bathroom is shared with the rest of the property, and you have to step outside to get to it (not great late at night, especially when it's cold/raining). I understand this isn't something the owner can fix, but the advert should make this clearer. The kitchen is fine if you're only going to make tea/instant ramen, but not for much else. There's a kettle and cups, but no plates (this is an easy fix). There's a stove, but only one pan in the cupboard and it's a 5L soup pot. A small one for boiling eggs etc. would be more useful.

Guest House super chaleureuse.

Nice hotel and very good location. The beds were comfortable and it was overall clean. The common room was nice to have and the bathroom worked as it should.

The walls are very thin and we could hear our neighbour the whole night. Never met the owner really, self-checkin. Overall a bit rundown.

Easy location with good access to busses and food, very comfortable beds, nice common area and essentially a full kitchen.

Inundated with messages and instructions for a week before arriving, sometimes twice a day. Walls are really thin, was very suprised to hear our fellow patrons baby for a decent part of the evening, just dont feel like it was the right place for that (dorm style hostel rooms). One toilet and one shower for roughly 10 people was not great.

Great location , within walking distance to Odawara Station. Very warm feeling and comfortable guest house , ever basic things are ready for use.

Need to walk up to 2nd floor by the side staircase and you will get wet if it rains. Toilet bowl don’t fixed with auto cleaning bidet. No free parking provided.

The lady who runs this accommodation was so so lovely and accommodating. Rooms and communal areas were very clean. Bathroom was full sized and inclusive of the basics. Great location with main bus stop right out front. Comfy beds.

The location is very convenient. It is about 12 minutes walking to Odawara station and the station area (where it is possible to find plenty of restaurants, a Don Quijote and convinience stores). It is also very close to Odawara castle and the beach. The bus stop to go to Hakone is only 1 minute away by foot! :D 2. The rooms are very confortable. The kitchen is equipped with a toaster and drip coffee :D. The living room is cozy. There is one toilet and one bathroom, which is quite big :D. 3. The hosts were always very attentive. I do appreciate that they sent messages several times to remind about the check-in so you don't miss it among other unread emails. 4. Thank you for the cute welcome note! :D
